Carbo/Caelyx and CA 125
Hi Ladies, My mom has been treated for her first recurrence with the Carbo/Caelyx combo since September 2023 and she so far has finished 4 rounds. Her CA 125 went down from 258 to 18 after the third round and the CT scan showed the cancer in her peritoneum shrank significantly. After the 4th round

Activating lipid nanoparticles can streamline the production of CAR T-cells for cancer immunotherapy
A bio- engineering breakthrough is reported here https://phys.org/news/2024-03-method-car-cells-lipid-nanoparticles.html and the article includes a link to the open access research paper. Sorry, that's all folks. This is a phone and I'm on holiday. Italy shouldn't be this wet. Ciao.

CLL + Bladder cancer + prostate cancer
I've been diagnosed with Cll since 2016 and been on Acalabrutinib for 2 years which is working really well along with monthly plasma ivig infusions. I'm 63 and male and fit and active. I just got diagnosed with Bladder cancer with a medium grade carcinoma. My uroligist has burnt the 2 spots she found

How long does it take for ca 125 to drop with caelyx/ carboplatin?
Dearest, Hope all good. Do you have any idea, maybe based on personal experience , How long the tumour market ca 125 started decreasing with caelyx/carboplatin? Just to have an idea, as my ca 125 went up from first infusion ( only caelyx) was ca 125 = 345, to second infusion( now combination carbo+caelyx

how to reduce chemo side effects
I will be starting chemo for my prostate cancer in the next few weeks. Any suggestions as to cooling hats, gloves, and/or socks or other ways to reduce the side effects of chemo. What has been your experience with chemo side effects or your endeavors to reduce them? I expect I will be getting a regimen

Concern - At 4 mo on Lupron/Abi, Testosterone hits 40
While PSA was again <.1 yesterday, testosterone jumped to 40 ng/dl or 1.4 nmole/L, which is a big move toward the 1.7 danger zone for faster movement toward CRPC ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5472467/ ) , and I am interested

tumours on one lung
had a body scan and saw lung specialist showed me 2 he thinks small tumours on left lung doesn’t know if cancer or not as a biopsy would likely cause lung to collapse so to go back for c t scan in 3 months to see if any bigger if so probably cancer or might disappear so worried as while to wait what

Earlier surrogates of overall survival to speed up new drugs development
there are statisticians (using AI) that are trying to find even earlier predictors to speed up the progress but it seems that progression free survival could already save 2 years for a new drug to be available on the market https://www.pcf.org/news/new-prostate-cancer-foundation-funded-research-to-speed-up-prostate-cancer-clinical-trials-worldwide

RT results look good
After a bout of sepsis from a directed biopsy, 5 weeks of RT and 3 months of Eligard, my tests show undetectable PSA. I'm still dealing with side effects (interrupted sleep, urinary and bowel differences) but happy to report it looks like, for the time being, that my stage 2/3 PC may have been beaten

Likely secondary cancer but no information
hi I thought I had a cold and lost my voice back in early December, saw the gp first appointment after Christmas as coughing not stopping. Saw head and neck consultant in February and was told 10 days ago likely secondaries (5 years since initial breast cancers). I have a 3cm lump in chest plus enlarged

Hi, I'm a breast cancer survivor and I had a double mastectomy. It is planned that I'm going to have the Diep flap procedure and I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how weight gain and loss affect the body after this procedure? Thanks

PSA 6 months after RT
Here is a review of a presentationby Dr. Ravi at ASCO 2023, regarding measuring the PSA at 6 months post radiation treatment, for all risk groups. He found that the 6-month post-RT PSA was highly prognostic of 5- and 10-year rates of metastasis free survival (MFS), Overall Survival (OS), and prostate
