Tamoxifen side effects
I have a question for tamoxifen users. Not a big deal but I am curious. I am 76 and have been on tamoxifen for a year and a half. I have gray hair - quite long. The hair is thinning but my curiosity is about my hair darkening. It is turning a dark brunette. Just seems kind of weird. Anyone else had that

optimal curative therapy?
Very fortunate still to have a chance for cure — Gleason 9 with post surgery LN involvement, but no distant mets detected. Received RT and about half way through a 2-year course of Lupron. PSA undetectable; tolerable SEs. Would adding Abiraterone or Apalutamide now maximize chance of cure or is it better

Advice please
I had a partial thyroidectomy (left removed) in April 2023. I am on 50mg levothyroxine but I am still not feeling right. I am having trouble regulating my temperature, my hair has tinned a lot. I am tired, ache, have put on weight and feel miserable. Keep being told by GP that my TSH is in normal range

Iron Induces Cell Death and Strengthens the Efficacy of Antiandrogen Therapy in Prostate Cancer Models, Cinical Cancer Research, 2020 Dec 1
The following paper from 2020 might be of interest to those using the antiandrogen bicalutimide as a major component in their treatment programs. Much has been made of cancer cell death by ferroptosis and from this first paper it seems probable that there is some potential synergy between iron supplementation

Docetaxel
After 7 years of various treatments including RP, Radiation and ADT My husband has begun Chemo (Docetaxel) His first infusion was at a reduced dosage and after the first reduced dose infusion his PSA went from 47 to 32. After his Second infusion his PSA went from 32 to 18. My question is, is it possible

Smear test hell
Hi ladies. Another year another horrific cervical smear experience. I’m at a loss as to what to do, i want to get the test but I just cannot bear the pain it causes me. At least now I know it is - at least to some extent - a result of my endo. Just wondering if anyone got any ideas or tips to make it

Orgovyx after 12 months
Just reaching the 12 month mark on Orgovyx. Lately, it is beginning to kick my ass. Just feel weak, depressed and unmotivated to exercise. Getting tired of hot flashes. I have put on about 15 lbs. since beginning ADT prior to radiation therapy. I was diagnosed GG3 (4+3=7), T2bN0M0. Lesion on one half

To radiate or not to radiate?
My metastatic prostate diagnosis was established three years ago by biopsy (Gleason 9) and PMSA that showed "innumerable osseous lesions" throughout my skeleton. I was started on ADT and initially responded well. However, my PSA has now risen to 0.7. So my oncologist ordered a repeat PET/PMSA that

Theoretical and in-vitro study of Sparganii and Curcumin together for castration resistant prostate cancer
I’ve not heard of Sparganii (sparganium) before but it’s not new to TCM. This herb combination is apparently a classic TCM treatment for CRPC. Wu, L., Chen, H., Long, Y. et al. Exploring the mechanism of action of Sparganii Rhizoma-Curcumae Rhizoma for in treating castration-resistant prostate cancer

Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate
My foley catheter has become extremly painful lever since I did a round of IMRT back in March. My urologist is reluctant to intervene but the catheter has become so painful that he is considering a TURP so that I can possibly rid myself of the foley. After doing a bit of reasearch I read an article

ADT vacation for 10 months
I have been on ADT vacation for 10 months now.(stage 4 with starting PSA 2250 in 2019). 2019 started on ADT and PSA has been undetectable 4 months after I started and is still.
