Besides being beneficial, a synthetic analog would solve the very serious that contamination problem and also the absorption challenge.

As i understand it Curcumin is seen to mask PSA as a marker for detecting and monitoring PCa rises in PCa. Is this study suggesting that this isn’t the case.

I used to take (on and off) curcumin in a rather expensive formula from Germany before I was Dx with Pca for my post polio muscle aches instead of ibuprofen , as and when i needed it.

I stopped because it seems it artificially lowers PSA monitoring.

I take it, highly bio available, but I quit a few days before PSA test. Even the most advanced formulas cannot keep it in your bloodstream for more than 24 hours.

I did take BioCurcumin (BCM-95 DC curcuminoids 860 mg - but despite asking the oncologist if it was ok to continue taking it and told it’s fine - I now realised it’s wrong and I should have stopped a while before my PSA test.

I had a PSA test having not taken it for a few months as no muscle pain and my PSA waa 7 - then I had started taking them again (not because of any PCa reason) and 3 weeks later my PSA was 5.7 - just before my biopsy which came up G9 - it maybe coincidence or just variability but I think not, as no BHP , no infection before and a relatively small prostate.

I also read, I think from something Tall_Allen shared , that the impact stays in the system for a LONG time and so one might assume a risk of altering or certainly giving some unreliability to just stoping for a couple of weeks let alone a couple of days!

Believe me I’d be grateful if I could get evidence to contrary as I’d use this again - not particularly for PCa but as it worked relatively well for my musculoskeletal issues from post polio

Then I am at least creating the same perturbation to my results since I always do the same routine before psa test. And luckily the fact that I am now undetectable (per Tall Allen definition at least) has been confirmed also by pet scans 👍👍👍

I take Theracurmin Bio Active 30mg every day as it seems to help with arthritis pain but interesting to note it might cocer PSA readings short term.

I take 2800 mg of curcumin and 400 mg of Celebrex daily for spinal issues. The Psa is what it is. I’m not going to be in pain just so my Psa test is accurate. Sorry but I’m big on QOL.
