Here I go again.
I have given up smoking so many times only to start again. I have again started the process of getting ready to give up. I only smoke at home, think in a way I could be classed as a secret smoker, I go to work and I'm fine, its just at home that the cravings get the better of me. You would have thought

Newly diagnosed and needing support.
Following wedge resection in early May of a lung nodule which could not be reached for biopsy I was told last Friday that it was lung cancer. I am now booked in for a Lobectomy next month, but I am beyond shocked as I was originally told by one Dr that as the nodule was non spiculated it was nothing to

Is there any way of obtaining Psychosexual Therapy & relationship councelling on the NHS after an APER that has left you impotent.?
An APER is the excission of rectum leaving you with a colostomy due lower rectal cancer.

Chemotherapy after Surgery
Two weeks ago my husband had a right upper lobectomy and lymph node sampling. He was discharged last week but to our suprise was given an appointment to attend the hospital on Monday only 13 days after the operation. It transpired that they were concerned that my husbands lung had not inflated fully

Colostomy - The Truth
Hi, I am 33. Last April (2011), I received laproscopic surgery for endometriosis. I had a 5cm cyst on my ovary and everything down there was so stuck down that they couldn't even see my fallopian tubes. I was also diagnosed with infiltrating endometriosis, which basically means it is in my bowel too

Living a nightmare
My Husband was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2010 age 50 on a regular check up last November a tumour was found on his left lung and he subsequently had a lobectomy of his upper left lung. He was off work for 3 months and returned part time but is now finding this so hard, just done

Endo and me the next round
Right so I went to see the consultant on Monday. Further to the fact that the Zoladex has done absolutely nothing, the pain is back to the same level it always was before if not worse, the bowel issues are back, the bloating is back, and the worst part is I have been bleeding every day for the last

Has anyone had a Colostomy bag after tumor resection?
I have a re grown ovarian imature teratoma that I am waiting to have removed. Chemo caused it to be necrotic so it was drained and is now only 6 cm rather than the 10cm. It's position is low over my vagina where my uteturus used to be. It also choked off my right ureter so that my kidney will be removed

How long til a stoma settles into a pattern?
I had my colostomy, descending almost end of colon, on December 4th. It does not seem to have settled into a regular pattern of working. I still get the urge to go to the loo but seem to have no control over the stoma excreting and I wondered whether anyone else has the experience and can say when, or

New tumour, another op? Very scared!
My new tumour is on the site of a post operative abscess afte my debulking op in 2010. I am seeing the gynae surgeon a week on Thurs to discuss another op as the tumour is constricting my bowel. I am so nervous as there is a real risk of bowel damage and a colostomy. Bang goes my aquarobics, the one

Next Op to remove tumour - colostomy here I come!
As expected I am to have another operation in Early December to remove the latest tumour. This is, my surgeon tells me unusual in ovarian cancer as it is often diffuse. This tumour however is very distinct and given that I am very well in myself surgery is the best option before it causes a blockage
