After seeing my consultant it looks like a hysterectomy is my only option. I have to have a MRI scan now as my uterus is stuck to my bowel.

I'm feeling a little down at the moment as nothing is straight forward. I'm opting to have a hysterectomy as I feel there is nothing else I can do. My consultant said that I cannot keep taking Zoladex as that hardens the womb etc and makes an operation more difficult. I haven't taken Zoladex for 3 years! Having said that he explained to me that I may end up with a colostomy bag as my uterus is stuck to my bowel. That is very rare and they have a good team which will be there when I have the operation. I'm due to go back in August to let my consultant know that I want to go ahead with the operation. I'm waiting for the scan now. I just want to get my life back.

Not suprising that you feel down it's lot to keep going though, have you seen a counsellor about the hysterectomy.... I have a ileostomy because of crones disease and have had lots of surgery for crones and endometriosis. I would say that you should prepare your self mentally for both outcomes, so if they can't free the bowel succesfully that you would be prepared and if they do it's great. When your in pain the decision may seem easy, but on pain free days you'll think maybe i'll be o.k. Try and imagine what your life will be like long term without the illness, and not saying it's always easy having a colostomy/ileostomy but if u don't want peoples remarks and opinions on it you'll need to keep it secret, unfortunatly because theres a few people out there that are not so understanding and respectful. Good luck Cath... Need 2 talk pls message and i'll try n help.
