Odd Question
Can nerve pathways damaged by MS send false signals back to the brain? I know damaged pathways struggle receiving signals, but can they send lies? For years when it’s cold my throats constricts and I have trouble breathing until warm again. That happened again yesterday. But by night my throat got

Atropic gastritis? Symptoms of B12 deficiency?
Hi all. I've been having some concerning symptoms for about 3 months. It all started with random abdominal pains and low back pain. It is now radiating down my groin and into the backs and sides of the thighs. I saw my GP last month as the stomach pains are now very bad, horrible burning pain,

Dr appt updates
Saw my pulmonologist on Tues. “Why haven’t you been using your Cpap?” Me: “Sometimes I feel claustrophobic and it’s hard to breathe. I also have had shortness of breath since I had Covid last June after coming home from our trip.” This led her to have me do a 6 minute walking test - my oxygen didn’t

What to expect?
Finger pain and swelling ongoing several months. No functional deficit. Rheumatoid factor mildly elevated and anti-CCP off the scale at >340. No rheumatology appointment yet - only just referred. Am I likely to be prescribed Methotrexate?

OA in hip and right shoulder
I've tried Voltaren, Duloxetine ( which did not stop the pain) Aleve, Tylenol, shot in the hip. I really don't want surgery, I'm 69. I even tried castor oil poultice.Id like just like to manage pain at night so I can sleep.... During the day when I'm up I can deal but nights are the worst.

Latest GP diagnosis is... I’m getting old! I'm 55! Help with next steps please… 😠
Hi everyone. So had my GP follow up since my previous posts. My ferritin is 26, which the GP informs me is the highest it’s been since they tested in 2017. She assures me it's fine as it’s ‘in range’ [10 – 180]. She insists I ‘categorically cannot have low B12 symptoms’ with an ‘above range’ B12

Sudden onset poorly controlled asthma
Hi, Sorry it’s a bit of a long story but I am feeling rather lost with what has happened. I was absolutely fine until November maybe odd tight chest and shortness of breath but this could have been anxiety. I am now on GINA step 4 and still poorly controlled. I am waiting to see the specialist, the

neuropathy?
I am still awaiting my first rheumatologist appointment. My labs weren’t awful - ANA & CCP negative, but Rheumatoid factor 191 and slightly elevated Sed Rate and C-reactive protein. I had had very brief (20 seconds or less) bouts of vertigo and 6 falls in 9 months - so my doctor ordered and MRI and

Partner diagnosed with emphysema
Hi all, My partner has just this month been diagnosed with emphysema. He's 64 and I'm 31, we've been together six and a half years, and I suppose I'm just looking for a bit of advice on how to cope with the diagnosis and tips on what I can do to help. He was hospitalised in January with pneumonia and

Blood test for intrinsic factor. How accurate is it?
Have been well for quite a while on my eight weekly B12 injections but had been referred to a gastroenterologist for worsening IBS . He wants to find out why I have B12 deficiency and has requested I have blood test for intrinsic factor. Just wondering how accurate this is as sure I’ve had before and

Mitral Valve Leak
I had an echocardiogram to see if my ejection fraction had improved after starting Dapagliflozin and Eplenernone a few months ago. My ejection fraction then was about 30-35% and he said it is now moderately impaired with an ejection fraction around 41%. Worryingly the mitral valve has leaked
