I developed a wheeze/whistle at night at beginning of lockdown and was diagnosed by telephone with asthma (at age 56) and given inhalers. (Have not yet had lung function test due to Covid) so still not really confirmed. I then developed chest pains which feel like they are where you’d typically recognise

Bloods and medication ordered by Oral Medicine Consultant ...refused by GP.
Has anyone experienced this at all? Refusal to prescribe and do bloods? I have been waiting to see an oral medicine consultant since January. Obviously, due to the dreaded, it was, like many appointments, cancelled and put on hold. Thankfully, I have not had to wait too long since easing of lockdown

Can the breathing with anxiety last 6months all day everyday without going 24/7
Basically went to the hospital about 2months ago had a chest X-ray that’s come back all clear and they’ve listened to my chest and that’s all clear but have shallow breathing constantly for 6months just wondering if it can last this long all day everyday I’m worried it was a blood clot or lung cancer

Pernicious Anemia with worsening neuropathy. I'm new here.
I was diagnosed by my physician in late February 2020 of pernicious anemia after a follow-up visit to my physician from an emergency room visit approximately 1 week prior. I will try to tell my story without being too lengthy, so here goes. Approximately 3 years ago I began having very brief episodes

Diagnostic tests
Hi everyone, I was wondering which tests people had to reach their diagnosis? I have many of the symptoms and a raised MCH. However, my intrinsic factor test just came back negative today. My B12 levels tend to be around 250. I also have Hashimotos Thyroiditis. My GP says she thinks I don't have PA and

Doctors want to stop injections altogether
Hello all, Following my recent post re. contacting my doctor’s surgery about coming back in for injections (for free as usual) rather than self-injecting at home (for £9.15 (and rising) a pop), I’ve received a letter in the post from my GP... She has used this opportunity to write to me informing me

Has anyone had ground glass opacity found in lung during X-ray?
My CAT scan and chest x-ray shows ground glass opacity in my right long. Also found during these tests was a small tumor which was just removed during a vets lobectomy. Just wondering if anyone has had the ground glass opacity issue and if so what the outcome was

Pain
Have had pain in my hands and less so in my elbows and shoulders for several months. My GP has spoken on the phone to me and been given voltarol gel which helps a bit. Blood tests show raised inflammatory markers and rheumatoid factor. Have been referred to rheumatology as GP thinks rheumatoid arthritis

Asthma hit me out of the blue
Hello to everyone at A UK I joined Health Unlocked some time ago because I suffered from Polymyalgia Rheumatica and needed advice. It's a nasty auto immune condition that can be managed with steroids. I am one of the lucky people to make a recovery after 2 years. Now, I'm getting on happily with life

Question... on castor oil packs !?
Hi Ladies. Quick question. I’ve my 7th FET booked for Wednesday 9th of sept ( next wk) I’ve always suffered with thin lining, so this time I gave castor oil packs a go. I think it has made a big difference. I got to my 8mm at today’s scan ( woohoo 🙌) and I start progesterone tomorrow. QUESTION IS

Where to next?
So I have hit a small impasse with my doctor and I'm not sure where to go next. To summarise where I am in my B12 journey, I was diagnosed B12 deficient almost 1 year ago, I was not given the Intrinsic Factor test before commencing loading doses. I was originally started on normal loading doses, until

Is it pernicious anemia?
Just confused over my blood results, my b12 went from 197-144 in just one week. My intrinsic factor was 2. I am currently on my third injection and not feeling much better. The nurse says I wasn’t absorbing b12 at all but the gp was very vague in diagnosis. I have a lot of symptoms of PA and have done

How long after injections are MMA and Homocysteine tests inaccurate?
I'm having a very hard time finding the answer to this, how long must I go without injections for an MMA or homocysteine test to be accurate? I've read don't supplement before an MMA test but for how long? Background: I just want to know if there's any chance I've invalidated my test results through

Chest pain
This sounds totally off topic, however I thought it's worth a try! I suffer with endo, usual symptoms etc. All abdominal, leg pain, lower back etc. However since Friday I've been suffering with extreme chest pains which is a constant dull aching pain. Then every now and again I get a sharp stabbing pain

What Happens at the Severe/Difficult Asthma Clinic
Its something that comes up quite a lot on here and I’ve seen it mentioned a few times recently so I thought I would write a post about my experiences at a severe asthma clinic and the kind of things they do there as I think I’ve had about every test under the sun at mine!! Just be aware, though that

B12 deficiency follow up.
Last week I posted about a letter I received from my GP practice telling me I was ‘borderline’ deficient (my level was 121) Anyway, today I finally got to speak with the GP who wrote the letter. She told me that earlier this year, the guidelines changed. People with a reading <115ng/L will still get
