What to expect?

Finger pain and swelling ongoing several months. No functional deficit.

Rheumatoid factor mildly elevated and anti-CCP off the scale at >340.

No rheumatology appointment yet - only just referred.

Am I likely to be prescribed Methotrexate?

This one is for PMR & GCA although some patients do have RA as well…

It really depends on your rheumatologist. Some think Methotrexate is a good idea. The results vary enormously and for some it really does not help anyway.

The crystal balls aren't working again! No way to know, what I can say though is that it is very unlikely with those lab results that you have that you have PMR which is what we discuss here. NRAS would be a better forum for you.

Are both hands getting the pain and swelling, then likely it could be RA, otherwise it may be other disorders...get advice from Rheuma...
