How do I get my consultant to agree to increase my T4 dosage?
After a seven years long journey and the fight of my life I am on Levothyroxine, 125 mcg, the brand being NorthStar. I am so much better and have much more energy. My results from Dec '20 were FT4 17.8 and TSH 0.09. Results from Nov '19 were FT4 19.3, TSH 0.75 and FT3 4.8. It wasn't until I had private

Where have my ABs gone?
Big shock today and I need help. Please excuse the long posting. 23 years ago I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism - after 3 years of treatment my thyroid levels were normal. Then I started to feel very unwell and put on 14 kilos in 18 months and I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and, after analysis

Appointment as aspected 😢
As expected, I got nowhere. Consultant apologised and said he knows it’s frustrating but as results are in range, he can’t do anything. He said normal range is the average range of the normal population and I’m in that range for everything so as an endocrinologist, he can’t do anymore. Said the people

Hi guys, I posted in here before that I was supplemented with eltroxin as my TSH was just under 4 and my fertility specialist wanted it below 2.5 for TTC. I had a concern that in August before supplementation my TSH was 3.33 but my T4 was 14.4. In November my TSH was 2.13 but T4 fell to 12.8. My doctor

1st results since adding T3 to Levo. Worried about my appt with Endo who says is going to be looking at my TSH. Any help /tips appreciated
I am going for my hospital bloods next week and then will get scheduled a phone appt with endo as my 3 month trial has ended. I am looking for advice how to best approach her and any good papers as to why supressed TSH isn't bad. Last time I wrote ahead of my appt with the kind help of a TUK member

Difference between autoimmune thyroid disease and non autoimmune
Hi to all the knowledgeable people on here 🙂 I was diagnosed hypo in 2013 and my antibody count was negative. The docs have refused to retest antibodies again so last year I had a private test and they were negative again. The doctor's note that came with the test results said that this indicates

Can anyone give me their opinion on these blood tests?

Pre-stage Hashimoto's?
Hi there I'm new to this group :-) I am not certain I have Hashimoto's but I suspect I am in a "pre-stage" if there is such a thing? I would welcome any advice or input please.. For the last 2 years I have been to and from the doctors as I have been utterly exhausted. I'm very fit, healthy and sporty

484 TPO?
question about TPO. I have an enlarged fatty liver and have been dealing with it since May 2020. I underwent radioiodine in August 2020 after my dr thought I just had hyperthyroidism but it turns out I actually have hashimotos and wasn’t discovered until October when I asked for a TPO reading which came

Cortisol results + Hashimotos
Hello! Hoping someone can help me understand high cortisol results and possible next steps, alongside thyroid results from a Blue Horizon blood test - thanks! For context I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 5 months ago and am currently on 50 mg Levo , but feeling unwell, fatigued, joint point - so decided

TPO and TG Bloods?
Hi everyone, can anyone help with this please? I was diagnosed over 45 years ago with hypothyroidism and happily medicated until I hit the menopause about 8 years ago and my dose was reduced from 250 to 100 mcg. Since then I have been suffering from several issues which I am wondering might be caused

Thyroid antibodies and levothyroxine
Hi, I don’t have any antibodies (that I know of, negative TPO test. I’m awaiting to seek clarification on whether or not TG has been tested) but I’m just curious - Do TSH levels take a longer time to drop when on levothyroxine when you have thyroid antibodies? Thanks.

This is why you should ALWAYS view your own blood results.
I was diagnosed Nov 2018, despite a blood test 7 months before not being processed and me being incorrectly informed all normal. But now I’ve discovered I was hyper years before getting diagnosed. Since setting up online access (with help from this forum on how to start going about it) I been going

Advice on Levothyroxine dose and brand
Hi all, my first post here! I have a query regarding the dose of my Levo and what brand to use. After a long struggle with my thyroid, I started off with thyrotoxicosis/Grave's disease (diagnosed finally in August 2018 by GP) - and going completely UNTREATED by idiot NHS endos - I fell into subclinical

TSH increasing but T4 & T3 improving as well?
Hi all, my hypothyroid journey has been a rollercoaster but this latest development is baffling me and am wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or insight. At my recent blood test, my TSH increased (showing I've gotten more hypothyroid apparently) but my T4 and T3 also went up to the highest

Useless Endo call but offered a thyroid scan.
So I received a phone call appointment with an Endo who noted my palpatation problems and high TPO but of course was as usless as expected only explaining that this is a non issue at the moment and that I should only receieve thyroid TSH testing every six months and that my chance of developing autoimmunity
