Just after some advice, I've just had my blood results back for my hormone tests, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and the TSH level is showing as 2.3 mIU/L, I have read the upper suggested number is 2.5 and as I'm edging close to this worried I should perhaps be doing something, GP has just said it's satisfactory and no further action required. My serum thyroid peroxidase antibody concentration was negative. Any advice appreciated? I am a nervous nelly over this pregnancy as we all are! It's been a hard climb getting to this point and I just want everything to be okay x

TSH levels query?
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you on levothyroxine already? If so then my midwife told me to up my dose my 25 every day (was on 50) so now taking 75 per day.xx
Hi there, thank you No I'm not on any thyroid meds at all....I have messaged my obstetrician this morning and asked if he thinks I need any so will see what he says! Xx
Congratulations on your pregnancy Egilbertpatt! Good you texted your consultant. How do you feel? Symptoms can be a bit confusing with hypothyroidism/ pregnancy i suppose.
I have hashimoto (diagnosed after 2 miscarriages) and did alot if research in to this. It took me a dose of 100mg to get my levels between 0-1 which should be optimal for ttc.
Goodnews is that your anti bodies are negative. One thing less to worry about as they increase miscarriage risk.
Not to scare you but levothyroxine doesnt hurt you or pregnancy so i wouldnt take the chance and push for it xx goodluck and keep us updated 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Thank you 😌 I'll see how he comes back but I'm happy to take meds if they think I need them, I was open to take it before transfer but with covid and no real evidence it would make any difference to me personally they wouldn't prescribe...my TSH was 1.4 prior to pregnancy but I'm just concerned over the climb...xx
