Tetanus vaccination
Hi all, I'm sorry if I'm being repetitive here, but I can't see any info on vaccination against tetatus specifically for us pmr sufferers. I'm well overdue a booster but am hesitant, especially as where I live the practice is to give a combined diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and polio jab. On the

Shingles jab
I recently had the first shingles jab and will not be having the second. I had the usual flu like symptoms for 3 days but then had 9 days of severe diarrhea. I lost 7lbs but ended up with low potassium. Low potassium can cause arrhythmia so I felt even worse. If you are offered the shingles jab please

Ongoing rash with extreme itching for 3 months
Has anyone experienced rashes on upper back, chest, abdomen and legs and seen a dermatologist about it? Husband has had this ongoing for over 3 months now. First time we visited urgent care and they gave him a methylprednisolone pack and it helped a bit but still came back. We had a dermatology consult

I have suffered from PMR for the last 3 years 10 months. I am now down to 2 mg of Pred, 1 at 3am ish and 1after breakfast. I recently asked my GP for a blood test for my Adrenalin levels as I didn’t feel a return of Adrenalin even though I am on a very low dose of steroids. It took 3 months to get the

Flu jab
Hi, has anyone had any headache related reactions to the flu or pneumonia jabs? I had bad migrane s after the covid jabs, which lasted a long time. I've now been invited for the flu and pneumonia and worried it may do the same. Thanks for any advice.

Diagnosing Arrhythmias
When the heart is beating normally, it is referred to as ‘sinus rhythm’. An extra beat (ectopic beat) can trigger a short circuit, and a fast heartbeat. It can travel down an extra pathway and up the normal conduction system. If this continues, palpitations can result. For more information, please download

Link between cellulitis and thyroid
This is more of an academic question. About 8 years before I was diagnosed I had cellulitis 2 years running. The doctors and hospital were really confused why I'd got it. I was doing some training today around infection and sepsis and it mentioned to that certain conditions made you more liable to infection

bronchiectases and fungal infection
Hello all, I have bronchiestaces amongst other things and I’ve been coughing up small amounts of blood for a few weeks. After a trip to A&e I was given a sputum test which came back saying I had a fungal infection somewhere in my respiratory tract. Has anybody else had this? thank you

Do you know what the Treatment Options for Arrhythmia are?
Arrhythmias are disorders of your heart’s electrical system whereby there is a change in the regular beat of your heart. Sometimes if the conduction pathway is damaged or becomes blocked, or if an extra pathway exists, the heart’s rhythm changes. The heart may beat too quickly (tachycardia), or too slowly

Is propofol safe for a colonoscopy with Parkinson’s?
is it safe, or is there a preferred drug for a colonoscopy? I’m on rasagiline and sometimes mucuna and carbidopa….and should they be discontinued before? If so, how long before? Thanks!

Sun protection. Mineral sun lotion on a budget
Staying protected from UV rays is high on many peoples list this week, with layering and staying in the shade so important. I’ve read that mineral based sun lotion is better than chemical as it creates a barrier on your skin that reflects UV light so t hey don't absorb into the skin. Mineral sunscreens
