Good morning my MPN family, Yesterday my husband tested positive for Covid, then I decided to take test too and was positive. After that I went to contact my MPN team and request antiviral Paxlovid medication. I was not able to get through my MPN team as I was hoping then I called 111 and as I was talking

"Oral Nirmatrelvir–Ritonavir [ Paxlovid ] as Postexposure Prophylaxis for Covid-19" -- does not do much
"... In this placebo-controlled trial, postexposure prophylaxis with nirmatrelvir-ritonavir for 5 or 10 days
did not significantly reduce the risk of symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection
." [That sort of has been the suspicion since the very beginning.] https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39018532/

Probably nearing treatment -some questions
My haematologist has sent a letter to my GP that she will be asking me to meet with her in several weeks time "with a view to starting treatment given the evidence of cutaneous progression." I missed my last appointment with her because she was ill, so had a phone appointment with another of the consultants

Covid booster
hi looking for some information/ advice please. 3 months ago I paid for a private Covid vaccine and received the Novavax . I was not in the age group for a free vaccine and paid to protect my partner who has vasculitis. The clinic rang me today and offered me a booster as it was 3 months since I received

Do Covid symptoms last longer with us?
I got my first case of covid last Thursday. Started Paxlovid immediately and din't get very sick. I tested Tuesday, thinking I would be negative but still positive. Do CLL'ers take longer to shed the virus?

Very worried about Mom
Hello everyone - wish you all a healthy path.My Mother was admitted to the hospital Monday morning and we found out she had urinary infection that went to her kidney and then blood. She had stopped taking venetoclax since Sunday. They are giving her antibiotics but her blood counts are out of whack.

Do you stop Methotrexate whilst you have Covid?
Hi lovely people, I have Covid and am wondering if I should miss my Methotrexate out this week. I was given antivirals, but had to stop because of an allergic reaction after 24 hours. What have you done in the same position please? My Rheumatoid is well controlled at the moment.

Haa anyone else been suffering badly withethe latest covid virus. Constant nausea and fatigue. I've lost more weight. My heart beating irregular when I'm vomiting. Had to call an ambulance sunday. When they came they said I was better off at home as they are full of covid patients. This is miserable

When We Have CLL, Why We Need Particularly need an Immunome. (Why neutrophil and immunoglobulin counts don't measure immunity all that well)
What if our doctors could recommend IgG replacement therapy (IGIV or subcutaneous IgG)
before
we became seriously ill, preventing that risk to our health, even our life? Or proactively recommend vaccination boosters or prophylactic antibiotics or antivirals? This is what a CLL specific

Covid and Sick Day rules
I've come down with Covid today. The test went positive in about 30 seconds! I had just started a slow taper to 8mg from 8.5. Please can you clarify whether, under sick day rules, I need to increase to 5mg twice a day or 10mg twice a day. The 10 option seems a big jump. Also if I am offered antivirals

Crazy week for me and the hubby...
This week started off fairly well, only for it to start going downhill from Wednesday. I woke up not being able to bend or mice my right leg, so there I was, worried that I wouldn't be able to get to an appointment at 9am at a small hospital in the town next door. I called up 111, and they suggested

At the bottom of Mount Covid…
When you work in and around education, it’s bound to happen. MrU came home from school saying “I think I’ve got a bug” on Wednesday. He’s never ill. There was so much sneezing and general grottiness that the Covid tests came out. Glowing positive T line before the control even came up. I’d been

Week 6 run 3 then covid
I did it. I was so pleased with myself as after 5 mins I had the choice to go up the slight slope or down. I went up ( normally I would opt for easier route) and managed the whole 20 mins running. I felt SO GOOD. Talk about pride before a fall. I then got covid!!! So 10 days of feeling bunged and
