Thank you all so much for your good wishes before my mitral valve surgery , they certainly put me in a positive mindset beforehand 😊 As many people have said the nurses and people caring for you are truly amazing 🤍 I can’t quite believe I’ve done it ,come out the other side and been discharged today

Cardiac surgery meds bring PSA down?
My PSA was 1.6 on January 8 of this year. On January 31st I had successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart valve. On March 7th, my next blood test, my PSA had dropped to .5. Has anyone here heard that this sort of drop after surgery is normal? Perhaps there are meds used at that time that could

Bowel preparation before surgery
Hi everyone! 💛 Just been on pre op assessment and nurse said I don’t need to do bowel preparation at home. I will have hysterectomy with bowel resection and Endo excision. Has anyone had bowel preparation at hospital just before the operation? I am quite concerned what is going on 🤷♀️

Is this decision right for me
I had a PSMA pet scan on 7/16/2024. The result shows a single tumor in my left lung measuring 8mm. My MO wants me to have the tumor radiated and monitor the PSA and its doubling time. A little background, I'm just short of 83 years old. I had prostatectomy in 2009, PSA undetectable until 2017. I had

Laparoscopy healing
Hi everyone, A question for the laparoscopy ladies; How long did it take you to heal? It's been 3 months since my surgery, and I fear my pain is worse than before. I've been prescribed diazepam for pain which I'm taking twice daily alongside, paracetamol and menfamic acid. Is this residual pain from

Advice/Help
Hi all, I'm just looking for some advice please? I'm due to go in for a Laparoscopy next week, I've had heart surgery in the past but, I'm really nervous about this surgery due to complications in the previous surgeries. So I'm just trying to calm my nerves by being as prepared as much as possible.

Open heart surgery for ASD CLOSE
To everyone who has given me advice, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for all the guidance and support you’ve offered since my open-heart surgery in April 2014 for ASD closure. Your insights and encouragement mean a lot to me, especially as I navigate the challenges I've faced

no cure
I’m pleased to see the post telling everyone about ‘how their endometriosis was cured’ has been taken down. There is NO CURE! Even if you have all diseased tissue removed you still have the disease. Some are lucky and don’t get a reoccurrence of the diseased tissue but for most the disease comes back

Seeing if anyone has any insight. On May 16th my mom (62 years old) went to her cardiologist with chest pain. She did have afib for the last three year but she had that under control. When she went to her cardiologist on the 16th he sent her to the ER just because he was concerned with chest pains

Hi all, I’m a 64 year old woman whose periods stopped when I was 50, I chose HRT after a few years of non stop daytime sweats, zero concentration and bursting into tears at the drop of a hat 🙈 I stopped the HRT back in 2020 but had to start it again last year as the sweats returned with a vengeance

Running after Retinal tear surgery
Hi everyone, I've had two retinal tears to my right eye in the space of 10 weeks and have had subsequent laser surgery for both tears. With the first tear, I waited at least 5 weeks, before I went back to running and had experienced my second tear at work and not whilst running. Has anyone had a retinal
