Estradiol, QoL and inflammation
Although I have been following the exchanges of this group for several months, this my first posting. I have (at 79) learned a lot from the pooled knowledge and experience of the group members. My inquiry ties in with posts regarding estradiol and the PATCH trial that have appeared the last couple

Fluctuating T4?
Hi all, Would really appreciate some advice on fluctuating free T4 levels - having had a dose increase from 50 to 75mg end of September 23, T4 finally went up to 16.7 (range 11.50 -22.7) in December - I know this still needs improvement and I still have the full range of symptoms but doctors wouldn't

When you don’t feel like it… but you do it anyway… and it’s good 👍🏻
Son is now on week 8. He said he’d like to do his first 28 minuter together (❤️) so I stayed on my bum periodically gazing out of the window at the glorious day and watched the sun go down, awaiting his return from school. He got back and said he didn’t feel like it 🙄 He hadn’t felt like it yesterday

Prednisolone without food
Have always taken my Prednisolone at breakfast with porridge or Greek yoghurt . Refuse to take a PPI. Am due for surgery in a few weeks time and not to eat after midnight. Am only on 4.5 mg Pred at present. Will it hurt this once to take it with no food? I cant see a way around it.

Removal of contralateral testicle
To further reduce risk of recurrence of NHL DLBCL the contralateral testicle was removed as well. Surgery was successful. Now waiting two months and then check PSA and Testosterone. Still hormone sensitive, but no further Lupron required. Looking forward.

Carboplatin alternatives
I was diagnosed with Primary Peritoneal high grade serous cancer stage 3C in early 2021. I had 6 cycles of Carboplatin and Paclitaxel, radical surgery, two more chemo cycles then Niraparib for just over a year until it stopped working and my CA125 began to rise rapidly. Surgery was considered and

Ceasing Apixaban
I am due for knee joint replacement surgery. Can anyone relate their experience with stopping and starting Apixaban before and after the operation. I also take Ramipril, will I need to stop this for a while?. Thanks

Circumcision in 2 days
Hey, I’m having the cut done in 2 days and am terrified to say the least but I’ve made the decision and I’m doing it. So… can anyone help with ways to reduce sensitivity in the first few days? I was due to have this done about a year ago but the anesthetist decided to postpone because of a fear

EOD on the NHS?
I went for my first 4 weekly B12 injection at my GP surgery today. I was expecting some push back from the nurse but she gave the jab willingly. I asked if many people are getting 4 weekly or more frequent injections. Just 1. Me! I’m a bit of a novelty as everyone else is on 8 or 12 weeks. This

update on SIBO and antibiotics
firstly thank you so much for all your comments because you gave me the confidence to start the rifamixin course. I am now on day 5 of 3 x 550gm tabs daily for 10 days. Yesterday was my first fairly ok day in ages so I’m beginning to hope I may get some relief, which will be wonderful. My gastro report

Advice/Help
Hi all, I'm just looking for some advice please? I'm due to go in for a Laparoscopy next week, I've had heart surgery in the past but, I'm really nervous about this surgery due to complications in the previous surgeries. So I'm just trying to calm my nerves by being as prepared as much as possible.

open heart surgery, aortic value replacement
my husband had surgery 6 July, we arrived back home Saturday. Any advice for recovering at home , he doing remarkably well, walking , stairs. Resting, but ! Hiding the laptop is difficult, mentally his mind is strong, but his chest wall is not, surely typing in a keyboard is not good ? Natalie
