Covid Vax Long Term T-cell Immunity
I posted this in a thread, but it seems worth a top post with recent info as there are many discussions on the vaxes, immunity and boosters. "Acquired Immunity" occurs by vax or infection. A large portion of the world has acquired immunity and likely T-cell protection. We saw last Spring in Hong

Hello Everybody I have had RA for over twenty years now, although initially it seemed to be held in control with the use of DMARDS, including Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine, Leflunomide and Etanercept, all of these had to be discontinued because of side effects i.e, infections and low platelets/thrombocytopenia

Caught COVID abroad?
I am immunosuppressed after treatment with rituximab and cannot produce antibodies against COVID. I would like to fly home to visit family. Have any of you travelled whilst still immunosuppressed? Has anyone ever caught COVID abroad? What did you do?

RISK OF DYING OF COVID DURING THIS OMICRON PHASE
Hi, Covid Mortality Rates, I am wondering about the reality. I've read everything from 33% - 89% until Omicron. I've read 2% in a recent publication from Denmark during their Omicron phase, and most of those deaths were in age > than 71, with many other serious morbidities. Half of those dying

Dental work SURPRISE - mtx -rituximab - Prolia - prednisone
I recently asked for and received great support from the group concerning getting medical clearance for dental work, a crown/cleaning due to mtx, rituximab, prednisone. Rheumy said to get clearance from GP. Two DIFFERENT doctors from the clinic responded. One prescribed amoxicillin prior to dental work

Total knee replacement. Looking for advice, guidance and wisdom.
I have a few concerns about my upcoming Total Knee Replacement surgery and would really appreciate hearing from those who have already been through this. Main concerns. 1. Does this major joint surgery impact negatively on CLL? Thats big issue. Currently in post FCR remission. 2. What may I reasonably

Dental work while rituximab & mtx
Yes, I did search this site for answers before asking this question. Yes, I did google the question, there is no answer. The answers are for extractions. I do NOT need an extraction, I need a crown & a regular cleaning & 1 filling. All can be done with separate appointments. Dentist is amazing but will

Osteoporosis
I am just completing 1 year on Venetoclax having also had 6 x Rituximab. My most recent CT scan showed 2 fractured vertebrae which my GP thinks is probably osteoporosis but a bone density scan will confirm this shortly. We checked the scan taken before treatment and no fractures. I'm wondering if this

Tested Positive - while on Rituximab - Seriously worried
Tested Positive - Got up yesterday felt a bit heady, ran my normal test and OMG - Positive. Rang my consultants admin they completed form and contacted yesterday by a snotty woman from NHS who didn’t have a clue about Vasculitis or GPA and the potential of getting seriously ill while on Rituximab. Finally

Rituximab and covid
I've been on Rituximab successfully for several years now. But since learning that Rituximab reduces the impact of covid vaccinations, my rheumatologist is understandably slow to prescribe the next infusion. I think they will, but I'm interested to know whether anyone else on Rituximab has successfully

Travelling out of the UK first time in 4 years - insurance and health care?
I'm going to visit Norway for a month with my wife, cat-sitting for her sister who just had a baby. Flat is all ours, high-quality masks and "extra legroom" seats for the flight. Our first big trip out of the UK for about 4 years after 3 years of reclusive existence, so slightly anxious! I'm in remission

Rituximab and tetanus (etc.)
This is to all my fellow immune suppressed folks about rituximab. I've been unable to find solid information, and my consultants aren't sure, so wondered if anyone here knows. Does rituximab impact our tetanus jabs and similar? I was up to date on all my boosters, but got bit by a tick on Saturday (think

Rituximab and Covid
Hello everyone. I recently participated in a webinar about rheumatoid arthritis. I asked the Rheumatologist hosting the event about how does rituximab affect memory B cells and will my body produce antibodies in the case of a Covid infection. He said Rituximab depleted all B cells and “a Covid infection

I have been following this forum for a little while and I have found it very informative and helpfull so much so, that I thought I might put my case out there to help guide me on this journey. In Marchy 2022, was also diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis as a result of the vasculities , now 75% lung capacity
