I am immunosuppressed after treatment with rituximab and cannot produce antibodies against COVID. I would like to fly home to visit family. Have any of you travelled whilst still immunosuppressed? Has anyone ever caught COVID abroad? What did you do?

Caught COVID abroad?
Yes, I/we have caught Covid on our holidays in Switzerland in February. Thankfully we were staying with our son who lives there. We had to extend our hols by five days until we got better and were allowed to come back. We had good insurance that were very keen to help with anything but we did not need anything at the end.
Hi Petrof. Could I please ask what insurance company you used? And how much it was to cover you? Thanks, Sarah
Hi Petrof, it's the other way round for me. I live in Switzerland and would like to visit home in the UK. Did you have to see a doctor or get any medication?
Look on the Gov UK website… it gives the health rules and regulations for entering the United Kingdom.Or you could ask a relative in the United Kingdom to call 119 I’m sure they would have the information or would know where it could be found.
You won’t be tested on arrival in the United Kingdom but I don’t know how you would go about proving you have got Covid if you thought you had it, because only a government issued lateral flow test will be accepted as proof-so you do need to find that out.
It would not be wise just to go to your local UK doctor declaring you think you’ve got Covid!
I am on rituximab, no antibodies and I’m elderly and I have escaped Covid so far and I would be travelling tomorrow if it weren’t for all the airline strikes. I couldn’t be bothered to sit around at airports.
My lupus is very stable n I take only aspirin, one hydroxy and calcium n vit D. No visit to a doc before hand needed. Just insurance.
I used Insureandgo with preexisting condition questionnaire on the phone. I think it was about £86 single trip. I think it depends on the status of your lupus.
