Last cycle of FCR next week
I am on the Flair trial am now approaching my last lot of FCR. When signing up to Flair given the choice FCR would have been my last choice of treatment, but on reflection although it has been tough, I am glad it’s the arm I was given. My haematologist told me that it is still regarded as the gold standard

What causes ITP..?
Well this is my 3rd ‘detected’ occurance of ITP in about 12 years. The prior two Rituximab has seen my platelets eventually stabilize for 3 to 4 years. I try to live a health life and have stopped drinking alcohol, coffee, tea and any sugar supplements... BUT air keeps happening! I commute a long

Anyone had these drugs? Comments please.
My first treatment starts in January. My Hem/Onc is prescribing Bendamustine and Rituximab as first line treatment. Dr said there is a protocol for 65 and under and one for 70 and older. I’m 68 so being closer to 70 that will be my course. (I believe dosage is lower). 2 days once a month for 6 months

FYI/Trial data to be discussed this weekend
In CLL, there are multiple trials of interest being presented with the potential to have an impact on practice, including the phase III Alliance North American Intergroup Study A041202 exploring ibrutinib alone or in combination with rituximab vs standard chemoimmunotherapy with bendamustine plus rituximab

4 Strikes (Biologics) and You're Out
I have seronegative inflamatory arthritis and have been on biologics for the last 10 years. Prior to starting biologics I could hardly walk and was in a lot of pain especially in my knees. Spent nearly 2 years on crutches and was on disability. I started with Enbrel and within days my symptoms improved

FCR or BR proposed for second round of treatment in London
Diagnosed end of 2013. FLAIR trail Nov 2015 – June 2016 stopped due to severe muscle pain. (See previous posts) Now need more treatment. Moved up partly because I also need a hip replacement and they can’t do it with my low immunity. So I am now being offered FCR or BR. A year or so ago I was told there

Anyone had change in ANA pattern? Mine gone from homogenous to negative to speckled
Hello, just wondered if anyone’s ANA pattern had changed? Mine has always been homogenous (which I think is most common in lupus) but is sometimes negative even when I’m in a severe flare. It’s been negative all this year then last week was positive again (despite high dose steroids, immunosuppressants

Chemo-Free Treatment Best Option for CLL Patients Under 70
There is good news in the advancement of chemo-free approaches to managing chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and I am thrilled to share it with you. Results of the phase III ECOG trial found that the combination of ibrutinib (Imbruvica) plus rituximab (Rituxan) came out superior to the chemotherapy and

FCR, novel agents, advances in CLL treatment, what CLL patients can hope for in the future. Australian experts discuss advances at ASH2018
Great to hear of real change beginning to happen in CLL, we really do have a reason to be hopeful. Leukaemia Care have interviewed global experts at The American Society of Haematology conference (ASH) on video for you to share in this. https://youtu.be/vLleI7G-gfk https://youtu.be/lEz4GkRX3Q8 https

My Dana-Farber Trial Update
Started Acalabrutinib in August and had a couple of headaches over the first week. Called my care team. Tylenol basically stopped the headaches. They never came back. Zero side effects from Obinutuzumab. Today, I completed my first dose of Venetoclax at 400 mg after titrating up for a month. Maybe a

Transformation of CLL into prolymphocytic leukaemia
my blood work says that my TLC is 227.9 with Atypical lymphoid cells at 30% , and 65% being prolymphocytes . The rest 5% are Neutrophils. Does it mean my cll decease dx in 2013 transformed into more aggressive subset of CLL , namely pro lymphoccytic leukamea which is hard to treat. My chemo immuno
