Metformin and Weight loss
I had no intention of posting today but after such a great visit to my GP, I thought why not. I have always been pretty clean with my eating. I tend to stick to low carb, high protein and good fats….92% of the time. That and the fact I cut back significantly on alcohol and I maintain a steady enough

Aching all over - not sure if I'm having too much or too little T4! Help appreciated.
Hello, my recent blood tests showed I am having slightly too much thyroxine ( I was having 100 mcg one day and 112.5 mcg the next day, splitting 25 mcg tablets). I am reducing the dose slightly, but I am feeling very achey all over and tired. I have been on a gluten free diet for almost 3 weeks. Could

Feeling sorry for myself
I've always eaten a healthy diet. Food cooked from scratch virtually every day. We never had takeaways or fast food. I've never smoked and don't drink. ( I sound like a real barrel of laughs don't I?) I had graves disease when I was 32, which is in autoimmune condition and am type 2 diabetic. As were

Interpreting Blood Test Results - Help Needed Please?
Hello, this is the first time I have posted here. I recently visited the doctor due to poor energy levels, achy limbs, dizziness, breathlessness, restless legs etc etc. My GP did loads of blood tests but the only clear red flags were ferritin and Vit D levels. I've been on 400mg of ferrous sulphate

Still foxed
Afternoon - I have been hypo for 10 years and decided to self medicate- now taking t3 only. When I first started I lost over a stone without trying in around 6 weeks. It then started to go back on and once again I cannot shift any weight. Cortisol good after taking hydrocortisone for 18 months.

Hysterectomy at 38
Hi there, I’m new to this so forgive me! I’ve had endometriosis probably since I started my periods at 13. I was put on the pill at 18 for “heavy periods”. At 28 I came off the pill and symptoms began in earnest. Eventually I had a laparoscopy to diagnose it but no treatment was offered. I did a gluten

How to put on weight?
I have Hashimoto’s and am following a strictly gluten free diet. I find it difficult to maintain my weight and am just under 8sts, with alternating diarrhoea and constipation. I’m 5’6 so I could do with gaining some weight. I saw a dietician for a while who diagnosed SIBO: I followed the treatment: supplements

Alcohol/sugar
Hi all. I had TT Nov 17. I read somewhere that you have to diet like a diabetic now, not too much sugar etc. And that high fat, low carb diet better. Iv stuck to that, and not gained weight. But I’m terrified to overdo the sugar thing like a glass of coke now and again or worse still few glasses of wine

Mucin - how to get rid of it?
Hi there, Does anyone suffer from mucin? How do you get rid of it? My whole body have been swollen for years, but seems to be getting worse. I was using my laptop and noticed that there were indentations on my legs where the laptop had been. Over an hour later, they're still there! I'm on 100mcgs

What do you think of my Endo's comments!!
Hi All Well I saw the endocrinologist last week (privately - self funding) and he said my results are all fine. (Serum TSH 0.29 range 0.30-3.94, Serum Free T4 13.6 range 12.30-20.20, Serum Free T3 3.7 range 3.70-6.70). I asked him why my surgery had asked to see me following these results and he said

Iga nephritis - gluten free diet
Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else had heard or knew of a strong link between iga nephritis and gluten intolerance or other digestive issues?
