Alcohol/sugar

Hi all. I had TT Nov 17. I read somewhere that you have to diet like a diabetic now, not too much sugar etc. And that high fat, low carb diet better. Iv stuck to that, and not gained weight. But I’m terrified to overdo the sugar thing like a glass of coke now and again or worse still few glasses of wine. Am I ok to say sod it and just get sloshed tonight. Or would I suffer terribly for it. I already now suffer terrible fatigue, and anxiety that both flare up out of no where. Is there anyone who lives a relatively ‘normal’ life post TT?

Well, coke and other fizzy drinks are bad for everyone - not just sugar and artificial sweeteners, but phosphoric acid. An occasional glass of wine is probably good for you, but getting drunk isn't. Many people do much better on a keto-type diet, but you do need some carbs for conversion from T4 to T3

Thanks angel. Thing is iv only drank water, bottled water for the last 3n half years. Apart from the odd herbal or decaf tea. And iv not been able to tolerate much more than 3 glasses of wine way before my TT. After the 2nd glass I start feeling sick, everybody thinks I’m a part poop and misery arse but it’s been like that for ages. I just can’t drink even when I feel like gtn sloshed. But every now and again when I’m in the pub or a restaurant I fancy a glass of ice cold coke or a few glasses of wine, but iv found that a couple of hours after I go v jittery and anxious, nervy, shaky and that. I’m thinking that this horrible levythroxine exasperates the slightest thing but esp too much sugar, alcohol, if I went as far as 3/4 glasses which would waste me, I winder would I be ok?? Was just wondering does anybody else suffer like this. The worse thing ever having ones thyroid removed our very own data base, our control centre. But alas life goes on. Peace out ✌🏼
