Hysterectomy at 38

Hi there, I’m new to this so forgive me! I’ve had endometriosis probably since I started my periods at 13. I was put on the pill at 18 for “heavy periods”. At 28 I came off the pill and symptoms began in earnest. Eventually I had a laparoscopy to diagnose it but no treatment was offered. I did a gluten free diet with limited success. At 31 I had another laparoscopy where they lasered the endo and six months of prostap injections. After that my husband and I tried for a baby for nearly two years. I had my eldest daughter and two and a half years later we had our second daughter. We are finished having kids. But now, after nearly five years my symptoms are returning with a vengeance. I saw a consultant yesterday with a view to a hysterectomy. I’m going to be having 3 months of prostap injections and HRT before seeing him again. What I would like to know is if anybody has had a hysterectomy at this age (or younger) and how it has affected you - positively, negatively or whatever. I need to weigh up all the pros and cons and thought that others personal experiences may help. Sorry this has been so long!
