lost baby at 17wks+3 days
hi guys I am writing this with a heavy heart. I started bleeding at 16wks which lasted for only a few hours and I was rushed to the hospital and kept on bed rest. I had no pain or cramps whatsoever. They did scans and said everything was alright but didn’t know where the bleeding came from but said

Caution: regarding medical procedure to insert a gel to protect organs while undergoing radiation
I’m 73 and I recently had this procedure done and it seems to be working well. But a word of caution. I’ve had some severe back problems where 3 vertebra are pinching nerves for several years. Typically the pain is sporadic and only a 3-4 out of 10. I have in the past had a couple very painful bouts

Big bleed
Oh my, juat need to vent a little. Im in the uk wales. Last night I had a really big bleed, for context I'm pregnant via IVF 6w6d and I'm on clexane (warfarin) due to a problem with clotting. I was advised to go A&E , after waiting 4 hours I got triage, and was told I will need to wait a minimum 12 hrs

Statins
Hi, new member here, 60yo. Cholesterol 5.1 overall, CT scan showed potential CAD - echo and possible angioplast to be done in due course. I've been told in no uncertain terms I have to take statins. I'm not overly enamoured about that as there seems to be so many varying studies; some say they'll give

Hi all. Hope your all doing well. In Jan 2023 I had bilateral tumours each being 7mm. Was tested for braca2 came up positive (history of bc in family rife!). Lymph nodes clear. Opted for double mastectomy and oomphaloompha surgery (removal of ovaries and tubes). Its not really called that but close

Unlocking the Maze of B Complexes: A Handy List for Safe Dosages and Bioactive Vitamins
It can be quite challenging to find reliable B-complex supplements that are safe in terms of dosage. Additionally, it is advisable to opt for bioactive vitamins for added safety. To help each other out, I have started compiling a list categorized into low, medium, and high dosages of B6 and B9, which

Stopping Levothyroxine temporarily
I found out I had an underactive thyroid when had a routine blood test after breast cancer diagnosis. I had no symptoms, but was put on Levothyroxine (50) by GP at the time. I was also on Letrozole to stop estrogen. I was on Letrozole for 7 years, but since stopping it, I've had tummy problems...bloating

OC scans and breast screening
My CT scans will include chest from now on due to lymph node involvement of OC. Just wondering if that negates the need for breast screening mammogram. Would a chest CT pick up breast changes anyway? I am under age 50 with strong family history of breast and ovarian cancers. Not currently in regular

Is this normal?
Hi there🥰. Its been awhile since I’ve written but I’m always thankful for the information in this group. After 5 years on exemestane, I received the following report after my last scans. Progression…and I’m scared. Today my MO put me on tamoxifen with scans scheduled in 2-3 months. Is this a normal

helvella - Thyroid Blog
You might or might not know that I have been accumulating information about thyroid issues in my blog - I have created a significant number of pages now. Many will be aware of some of the specific pages which I link to quite regularly. But you might not have realised what else is there. Below is a copy

4yrs post first diagnosis
I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in the fall of 2019- had a lumpectomy and have been on Tamoxifen since then. I am scheduled for my yearly diagnostic mammogram on Thursday but today I noticed a peculiar change in my other breast- redness in one distinct area- the same place as my last
