WHINGE UPDATE
Hi folks, thankyou to everyone who has given me support, it helped make me feel less isolated. Phoned the NRAS helpline for advice re 1:1 phone call with DWP next Tuesday. The society say they have received many complaints about the attitude towards us and their lack of understanding. Now feel confident

ARTHRITIS FLARE UP WINGE
Hi folks, feeling run down and fed up, (mild depression), fun contines with the pain and discomfort. Missing Olga, Bella appears to still be looking for her. She won't let me touch her, backs off when I go near, comes in to eat then wants to go out or hides which she never did before, upsets me.

Can someone comment on results please and does my liver need a detox?
Hi I have hashimotos and am on 1.5 grains per day NDT. Noticed I had really bad brain fog and trying to understand if it is menopausal symptoms or too low a NDT dose. I am 52 and periods are still regular. Turns out my Vit D was very low. Have started supplementing again as I had let it fall away

High BMI at risk of diabetes. New plan
After ready some of the amazingly supportive responses I now have a plan to eventually run 5K. I'm not officially obese but my BMI is really high and borderline diabetic. I tried doing the running last year and got to week 5. I've put more weight on since and just can't get going. From tomorrow morning

Diabetes UK predict there will be 5.5 million in the UK with type 2 Diabetes by 2030!
Hi everyone, I heard this on the news this morning and think that it's a shocking statistic as there are so many other health risks once someone has developed type 2 diabetes. Here's the article: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/professionals/position-statements-reports/statistics I'd like to remind members

Do I need Vit B12? If so what and how?
HI All. Just had my blood test results and all pretty good except Doc said my Vit B12 was a bit low at 213 pg/mL (normal range 160 – 950), and suggested that I may want to take a daily supplement. Question is what? I can buy a Super Complex B for about £21 for 500 tabs from Costco which contains

Type 1 diabetes Phase 1 trial of the dietary supplement HAMSAB (high-amylose maize resistant starch modified with acetate and butyrate)
Yes, I know it's targeting T1D, but I'm wondering if they would need to change very much if they were to run a similar trial for PD? "Changes in gut microbiota composition, function, and immune profile following six weeks of HAMSAB supplementation were associated with increased SCFAs in stools and plasma

Does Prednisolone affect Cholesterol levels and blood pressure??
Hi. Back in February (pre PMR) my cholesterol was HDL - 1.5 and LDL 3.8. Six months later (four months after commencing Pred) my levels are now HDL - 2.4 and LDL - 5.0!! My levels have never moved by much over the years and this was something of a shock particularly as it has happened so quickly.

Methotrexate? Is it too soon to go onto this drug
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 and have found this forum invaluable over the past 13 months. This is my first post as so far I have always found the answer to my questions somewhere on the site. However on this occasion I would really appreciate some advice. I’ve just updated

How long before an oral B12 tablet affects your Active/Serum B12 level?
Assuming for a moment that you don't have PA, and that you can successfully absorb oral B12 tablets like a healthy person (who may just have a very poor diet): 1) How long does it take an oral B12 tablet to be absorbed, such that it raises an Active B12 blood test result (or failing that, a Serum B12

Is it okay to cycle my Levo dose?
Hi everyone, I am a 47-year/old female with Hashimoto’s. At the beginning of the year I dropped my Levothyroxine dose down from 125mg to 100mg on the advice of an endo because my TSH had been stuck at 0.01/0.02 for about seven years. My level then leapt up to 5.25 within a few months. My doctor has
