It's exactly one year today that I had my heart attack. I still have problems with high blood pressure, which goes up and down. I get the occasional chest pain and pain in my left arm but nothing severe. The question is do we get a follow up to check the state of our heart etc. I had a triple by pass

Cortisol Levels Update
Morning all. A very wet and miserable morning here, nothing unusual about that I guess. Anyway, my latest blood tests came back and although my Cortisol level is still high it has at least dropped from from the 749 two weeks ago to 625 (normal range 145-619nmol/L). Not had a chance to chat to doctor

2 months on Olaparib and my CA125 has risen
I started taking Olaparib about 2 months ago. The first month was pretty rough but the second month much better. When I started Olaparib, my CA-125 was 19 about 5 weeks after my 6 rounds of chemo after being in remission for about 6 years. I responded really well to the chemo (I am BRAC2) and I was

Starting medication advice
Hello Long story short, i was diagnosed Hashimoto's 2020, told to wait for TSH to rise before medication. I've been trying to conceive for years so went back to the GP this year when i found out TSH should be below 2.5 for this, not 5. Most recent tests are: 22/02/24: TSH - 5.01 (0.35- 5.50) T4 -

Mucinous ovarian cancer
Hello, in December 2023 I was diagnosed with stage 1c2 ovarian cancer after having an op to remove my ovary and fallopian tube due to a large cyst. The cancer I had was a mucinous cancer, has anyone else had that type? I've recently had my 3 month review and blood test results. Thankfully my CA125 and

Osteoporosis
I had PMR from 2016-2019. Took Alendronic Acic for about 6 weeks but stopped because it was affecting my throat. Had bone density scan around 2017 which showed some osteoporosis and some osteopenia (record has been lost due to GP/house move). I was offered an Infusion of AA which I had in 2017/2018.

Testing when on single dose T3, anyone tested to see peak?
My recent blood tests I decided it would be interesting to see what my level of fT3 would be on a normal day, so I took my usual early am dose of 15mcg and tested 5 hours later (9am) So 8.23 (3.1 - 6.8)

Elevated iron levels-advice please
Hi, Would just like a bit of advice. After years of infertility and miscarriages, we were referred for fertility testing. We have been refused for IVF on NHS due to diminished ovarian reserve which is pretty low for my age. I am 42 years old. I have always been aware that my haemaglobin has been on

Folate test prep
I’ve been asked to retest my folate as this was rejected from my latest batch of blood tests, earlier this month. I’ve not had just folate tested before (only as part of a wider set of tests) please can you advise on any prep I need to do for just folate? Assuming I should stop Thorne Basic B

B12 or Menopause?
In Dec I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency <148 and low folate <2.2. I had 6 loading doses into the beginning of January plus a month of folic acid and felt better quite quickly. Since then I have felt worse again so I had another blood test last week. My b12 is now 559 which is normal and folate is

High TSH - and GP not advising treatment, any advice?
I've been advised I have abnormal (higher than it should be) TSH following 2 blood tests done over the last 12 weeks . The comment from the GP so far is to do nothing apart from wait 1 year and have another blood test. I've requested an appointment with the GP to discuss this as I'm not happy with a

Accord at last.
After a tremendous kerfuffle, drove across town to collect my Accord brand, to find later a text from my practice to say that after approx 6 weeks, I was to prompt a TSH blood test! Amazing considering I was told they were ‘all the same’! Also finally got my belated Medichecks annual Advanced Thyroid

Dr added more T3 and labs show no change, what happened?
Hi everyone, I finally after having Hashis for over 30 years found a great dr when I moved, who is willing to work with me and disregard TSH. She took me off my previous combo of 100 mcg synthroid and 5 mcg cytomel and started me on120 mcg of NP Thyroid back in October. It was a great help
