Update on latest blood test & 1st visit to endo in 27years😳

Unable to post blood test result due to to much of personal details spread all over🤦 personally I feel I'm doing better than most especially since coming on to this forum although I still have rough days at least I can understand why!

After a 40 min over the phone conversation with my endo of which was a struggle due to language & my tinnitus, I came away hopeful. From that I had a full blood test mainly for cortisol as endo felt it needed to be ruled out. Due to cortisol being low I'm now to have another test a short synacthen to check adreanals & possible Addison.

As my TSH levels are low asked to change levo to 100/125 alternate days got the usual scare stories but thought I'd try it see how I go can always go back.

Cortisol 280nmol/L (185-624) so may be contributing to tiredness?

Free T3 5.8pmol/L (3.8-6.8)

TSH. 0.02 miu/L (0.34-5.6)

Free T4 16.2pmol/L (7.5-2.11)

Vit B12 565 ng/L. (110-914)

Folate >20 uh/L (3.1-19.9)

Vit D 129 nmol/L (60-150)

Liver function etc seems ok to me.

I think I've improved with all the vitamins I'm taking🤞 it gets better. T3 was discuss as a possible trail but because I live in East Lancashire the NHS there blacklist T3 (my endo is at a West Yorkshire hospital & trust, T3 is allowed)🤦difference of 15 miles easier to get to & better rated. Shouldn't have moved🥴

Hoping the dosage change doesn't affect me too much but I'm monitoring closely.

Started taking vitamin C as had a very bad cold from granddaughter in hope to boost me found had a good effect on my bowels😁so much better. Thanks for reading.

Your fT4 already looks to be on the low side but your range has gone a bit squiffy?

Looks like he's going to treat you on your TSH 😕 but good that he is talking about T3 🙃

He is a she, I've requested a face to face but have yet to be assigned. Yes I know my TSH is low just wish they'd disregard it & watch the T3 which is slightly better than last time I'm sure it's the vitamins helping. Heyho we'll see how we go. Just annoyed some NHS trusts blacklist T3 🤬talk about post code lottery.

What was your dose changed from?

Due to cortisol being low I'm now to have another test a short synacthen to check adreanals & possible Addison.

Just so you know what to expect before it happens, read pages 68 - 70 in this document :

Try to make sure that ACTH is measured at the start of the test. It is often missed out to save money. If you have Secondary Adrenal Failure, then failing to test ACTH means your diagnosis will be missed. If ACTH is not tested then the only diagnosis you can get (if it applies) is Primary Adrenal Failure.

The different types of adrenal failure (aka Adrenal Insufficiency) are given here :

Great thanks for information, I put myself in 125mcg due to my weight which the GP wasn't keen on upping re TSH being low hence refer to endo. She agreed initially since bloods has requested 100/125 alternate as I've lost a few pounds weight thought I'd try it but if I start to feel weird again I'll knock it on head.Great to know what I should be getting which I can now prepare questions prior to the nurse contacting me I reckon I'll have a wait.👍
