Advice re private GP
Hi, I'm new here. Frustrated because I'm still having hypothyroid symptoms nearly a year on from diagnosis. My TSH is 5.2 ( 0.4 - 5.4) GP refuses increase in Levothyroxin. Currently on 25/50 mcg, alternate days since May. I've decided to find a private GP (or thyroid specialist) if refused again after

Does anyone know if this can be treated. The GP said to come for a blood test. I'm an the liver clinic again in 2 weeks and hoped it could be eased sooner.

Endocrinologist recommendation in London area
hi, I’m going back to the hospital next week to repeat the blood test but I realised it’s just going to be the emergency team and I assume it’s going to be a long wait before I see an endocrinologist. I have private insurance so I will need to use it. Could you please recommend a descent doctor please

HAPPY NEW YEAR. Hope you all enjoy much better health in 2024. An update. A couple of weeks back I had a tele-consultation with my rheumy as I had Covid. This was my 1st encounter with Covid after 3 years and 8 months! On the tele-consult app I was able to upload a brief resumé of my last

Do my blood test results indicate a Thyroid issue?
Hi and Happy New Year! I am new to the forum and looking for some advice. I recently had thyroid blood tests due to symptoms and a goitre. The results have come back but my GP said nothing can be done but I could be headed towards a thyroid issue in the future with the high Antibodies. I have been feeling

Head/neck pressure
Does anyone know what causes this? I had it a few years back, right at the start of my thyroid journey, and when I now know I was on levo but it was doing nothing. Since swapping to T3 only about 4/5 years ago I haven’t had it at all. Until now. And weirdly, it happens at the same time each night

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask, what foods do people find trigger there IBS? I was diagnosed with IBS when I was 23, I am now 36 and i have managed to cope with the symptoms of IBS so far. But in recent months, I have found that it's getting worse. Could a blood test work out if I have an intolerance

Seeking any information people may have. I fell off a step two weeks ago and took a tiny flare of bone off both my ankle bones (fibula). Very bad sprains and doctor has put me in surgical boots for four weeks (Merry Christmas). I postponed my three monthly bloods as I was in such a mess but am

Desperate need for help and advice
I began to experience pain in my central back and left side in November 2020. I went to the GP and had my stool and bloods checked which were all found to be fine. The year of 2021 was fine for the first half and then in August 2021 I had COVID and was bed ridden for a number of days. After my recovery

Curious about my experiance. Interested in what others think?
Had stiff muscles and increasingly sore knees and shoulders and finding it difficult/impossible bending down. Here in Wales Drs do not prescribe physiotherapy, we have to do it ourselves. Usually takes about about 12 weeks to be seen. However my disabled partner was in hospital with 2 osteoporotic vertebral

road to diagnosis
Hi everyone, I don’t know where to start… it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster so far. It all started when I started getting redness and discolouration in both feet. My GP did a blood test and referred me to my rheumatologist for further assessment. My rheumatologist felt that my feet getting red was

Fatigue, rashes, diarrhea, tapering...what next..
Hi Warriors. Am missing a lunch date today because of fatigue and all the above symptoms, plus low mood. Feel like I'm being a wimp, because this is not my usual approach to life! On 3.25mg trying to stay there in prep for synth blood test on 19th, which rheumy wanted me to get to 2.5 for...no chance

HNY!... and a warning for those who lead busy lives (aka all of us)
Firstly, I'm conscious I haven't posted in a while. 2023 has been a tumultuous and stressful year for me personally which involved a very close family member being diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year and much of my life for the next 6 months revolving around that. It's not why I'm here, but

Feeling scared and lost :(

Feeling cold despite overactive thyroid
I feel the cold all the time but GPs can't seem to find an issue. I'm currently in a heated home with three jumpers and two pairs of socks on, plus a blanket! GP did full blood tests, showing an overactive thyroid but all other tests within range (detailed below). I take 100mcg Levothyroxine a day and
