Went for my private blood test today

Hi all. So after all the advice went for my private blood test this morning. The nurse tried 3 times to take blood and nothing. I drank lots of water before hand. Any advice for next time, I am booked in for next Tuesday.

Make sure that you’re warm. If you’re able run about for a short while before bloods are done ☺️

Any sort of exercise to get the blood flowing and make you feel warm (so the blood vessels dilate)! Good luck

Same happened for me on Monday. I felt like that the nurse I saw had no clue, at the GP surgery they get blood out of me (using a kid's needle).

Yeah my gp get it nearly every time when I see one particular nurse. The others struggle. I've been to superdrug twice now and still no blood and they have been lovely nurses .

They sometimes have a strap that they tighten around the top of your arm. My friend takes blood for me, and I grasp and squeeze the top of my arm as she does it, rather than using a strap.
