Blood Transfusion

She has had one blood transfusion (2 units) four weeks ago and halved her Niraparib from 200 to 100. Her bloods are still showing low haemoglobin and she is having to have another blood transfusion. She has a scan next week and a consultation with her consultant in two weeks.

If so did you have a blood transfusion or anything else to manage? thank you xxx

It’s just that I suffered very badly with iron deficiency resulting in blood transfusion and iron infusion, then put on iron tablets a good few years ago. However my Gp in his infinite wisdom looked at last set of bloods and said bloods ok and stopped them.

On the 8th time I had the operation which was for 8 hours due to a blood transfusion and complications this was this year in may it took 9mths to have the operation.

I told everyone my mom got the blood transfusion but it only lasted 2 weeks. She is back with going crazy at nights walking, banging, crying and lossing it again. Told her to stop taking the duxet. We will see what happens. Im seriously thinking aboit going to turkey.

since September 19, my husband has been in the ER or admitted 8 times from cystitis: can’t urinate, lots of blood clots necessitating catheterizations. He has had 3 cystoscopes, a blood transfusion, developed lung clots and had to be taken off Eliquis because it counteracted the cystitis problem.

Doing a blood transfusion this morning to help the counts and will do third round of chemo next Tuesday. Only real current complaints are fluid retention and general incontinence, but otherwise handling chemo well. Hoping that each of you are having success in your treatments.

As she had a bag of platelets her platelets count went to 56 within two days Hgb was 90 then by Friday platelets were 625 Hgb 86 today Monday platelets were 1065 and Hgb 81 no more blood transfusion promised as gastroenterology say she will only bleed it away, she has resumed hydroxycarbamide at one

And I also needed blood transfusion few times a year due to heavy bleeding. It has been exhausting journey for me so I hope I'm able to have a support group and understanding my own illness

I was scheduled for outpatient transfusion on Friday but somewhere the ball was dropped and I did not get a blood transfusion. My levels were at that time dropping about .3 per day. Here nothing happens over the weekend so I was really concerned that I would be below 6.0 by today (Monday).

8 nights in hospital.Two surgeries within 2 days, a blood transfusion and iron infusion, insulin drip.Back at the breast clinic yesterday to have fluid drained from my boob and underarm. Fluid building up again, spoken to the clinic I'll have to go back to have the fluid drained once more!
