High white blood cell count
I am on watch and wait. My GP did a blood test and it showed my wbc as 34.5 all it said was abnormal but expected. I’m not sure this is passed on to my Consultant and haven’t been able to talk to my GP. I’ve been feeling unwell and breathless lately and have a CT scan tomorrow on my lungs as they were

neck pain, turning head very painful. PMR/GCA flare?
Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis ruled out by
blood
tests
. I’m on 9 mg pred and haven’t increased it in the last months, I’ve been trying to rule out other causes before resorting to an increase. Diagnosed with PMR and occipital GCA 4 years ago.

Update on stroke and painful back
I'm still to have monthly

for him, and go back in 3 months. He is so thorough. I had the pleasure of meeting another nz member on Thursday who came to Pukekohe to dog sit for her son. It was so nice to meet a kindred spirit and both of us are in the pmr gardening group.

GP expressed concern about hypothyroid after a recent blood test, a couple of questions if anyone is kind enough to take the time to read
Hello, I have recently had a blood test after visiting my gp with pains in my right leg (which I have had since the birth of my son 13 years ago) that had travelled and become more persistent, as well as pain and numbness in my right arm leading to a cold hand. A full blood test has shown my folate

Fasting bloods help
My issue is my
blood
pressure tends to drop during
blood
tests
and I feel and can faint. If I take my levo after my test, I still can't eat until 12.30 or more depending on when the test is done and. I dont think I'm going to be OK until then. What do I do in this situation?

Diagnosed with Richters
My history is a CLL diagnosis around Sept of 2016. I started the Ibrutinib/Venetoclax trial at MDA in Jan 2017 achieving MRD U in April 2019. Clear sailing until April ‘22 when my blood test showed .07 CLL cells that doubled every 6 months. Showing no symptoms, my Doc did not recommend treatment.

still a bit new to this!
hi Found out I have ITP June 4th. Looking back I think I’ve had it a long time (probably for years but not all the time and maybe not low low). This year I’d been bruising a lot on my legs arms and midriff. Found out I had a count of 8. Steroids for a few weeks which put it back up to around the 140

tomorrow morning I am having a angiography done of my carotid arteries.
My question is has anyone developed atherosclerosis due to an MPN. None of this started till this year. My platelets were one million fifty seven thousand the other day when doing a blood test prior to my procedure Monday. I take hydroxurea and low dose aspirin for the platelet issue. Does not seem to

Lower Ejection Fraction
My ejection fraction has gone down from 40 to 35 and I'm wondering how to get it back up again. I'm sure it is tablet related as I take a lot of medication for heart failure as well as Parkinson’s drugs and my BP is always very low (normal for me but lower readings lately). I know exercise and fibre

MRI Results
Hi I have not been in a good place so sorry for not posting this earlier. And socializing is so hard. My results say My brain scan was normal apart from a few small areas of hyperintensity, with no inflammatory changes, so no further investigations required. My whole spine scan shows some wear

Folic acid = tummyache!
Hi all, I am meant to take one 5mg tablet of folic acid with each injection, that's every 2/3 days. These were keeping my levels high but the tablets give me stomach ache and discomfort, so I switched to daily liquid drops (methylayted) of 400 micrograms per recommend dose. This also seemed to work although

steroid reduction setback
i was diagnosed with PMR beginning of June and started on 15mg Prednisolone which immediately brought about huge improvement to the point where after a couple of weeks I had no pain. After 4 weeks, and with inflammatory markers down from 70s to normal, GP reduced dose to 14 mg. I found no deterioration

Is this the end...
...or another false dawn. Driving to Bremerhaven a few weeks ago I realised I hadn't packed my Pred. Been on 2mg for a couple of years. Okay thought if things start to go wonky I'll go to the local medical centre and tell them. Been 3 weeks now and still haven't had any problems or aches. Now I know

Advice on best blood test
Hi there, I'm looking to test Sodium, Potassium & Magnesium levels, as well as a full iron panel, Vit D, B12, Folate, thyroid hormones and sex hormones. I use Medichecks often for testing, but can't find a test that includes everything. I've found a Medichecks test that includes everything but SHBG
