Newly diagnosed with PBC
Hello This is my first post - I was told I had markers for PBC way back in 2017 after a routine blood test flagged up elevated liver enzymes. I was referred to a liver consultant who monitored my liver yearly. My GGT was always hovered around 120 but last month after a routine blood test it was raised

New trial in the West Midlands seeks to diagnose early-stage ovarian cancer
Good morning everyone This post is to let you know about the SONATA trial which is looking at whether taking two blood tests together (CA125 and HE4), and using a calculation called ROMA, would diagnose ovarian cancer earlier. The researchers hope that the tests used in the SONATA trial will mean

Myocarditis - new here
Hello, I’m glad I’ve found this chat as I feel pretty isolated with this new condition. My story sounds like some I’ve read on here: I spent a week in hospital 7 weeks ago following a very painful episode of heartburn - which turned out to be my stomach but a blood test revealed high troponins. Since

60 DAYS IN, QUICK UPDATE ON TODAY'S DR VISIT huCAR-T 19 IL-18 4th GENERATION CLINICAL TRIAL
60 days have gone by since I received my new T- Cells. I have been neutropenic, average ANC of about 1.0 for the last 2 months and my Fibrinogen levels have been consistently low. I have had to do twice weekly blood checks at Penn Medicine, and most of those tests have resulted in a CRYO infusion

Recent blood work, raised eosinophil count!
I'm going for a nasal polyp removal operation next week (Private) and I needed a blood test and cardioelectrogram prior. There were some minor values 0.01 up or down on 2 or 3 values mostly inflammation indicators. However, Eosinophil count was 0.5 x10*3ul which was beyond range according to the pdf

For People With Parkinson's Taking Levodopa Medication: The Danger of B6 Deficiency Is Dire and Vastly Outweighs the Danger of B6 Excess
Vitamin B6 is an essential cofactor for over 100 enzymatic reactions. We need abundant B6 to keep what is left of our dopaminergic neurons as healthy as possible, especially since they are already compromised by Parkinson's. Levodopa medication depletes vitamin B6. B6 is only present in foods in low

I have multiple issues: asthma, atrial fibrillation (permanent), underactive thyroid. I am on apixaban blood thinners. This last year I have had a rather bloody uti followed in May by bleeding from my colon when I lost a considerable amount of blood, so I am now deficient in iron. And am taking iron

I had a major surgery about 8 months ago but the pain around my stomach hasn't gone away. My blood tests and CT scan results are normal. They mentioned that have adhesions which make me in pain all day all night, so I only rely on the pain reliefs.

Bubbling sensations in the rectum area and very low gurgling sounds, has anyone had the same?
I have had blood tests and a colonoscopy. Everything is fine apart from high iron levels. But I was just wondering if anyone has had the same sensations/symptoms in the subject line? Any advice or reply from someone that has had the same symptoms would be appreciated. I have also just had a FIT test

GP blood test for B12 - but should other tests be done too ?
I’ve recently been posting on the thyroid forum. I have had frizzy feeling feet, then going up my legs, but it has calmed down a lot quite suddenly. The feet started overnight and would be fine in the day. The feet and legs together went away in the afternoon. I’m not sure this really sounds like a

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read this. After a stay in hospital due to my gallbladder, I had to do a blood test two weeks after

Treatment for perimenopausal symptoms and PBC
Hi, A year ago I had my first bout of very strange and severe anxiety and depression linked to perimenopause. I am 48. A blood test showed my oestrogen level had significantly dropped. After a couple of months I seemed to re-stabilise and didn’t need HRT. I had been taking a supplement, recommended by
