Doctors
Hi againI have a question about medication How often do you get reviwed for your medication? James has a blood test request letter and a txt to say that the doctor has reviewed his meds and reissued them, now that's fine but no-one has seen James since last year. Is that normal?

MTX dose v blood test timing.
Hi, has anyone ever noticed any sort of correlation between (1) the relative timing of mtx dose and the monitoring blood test, and (2) the level of any abnormality in the results? So for example, if mtx is taken on sunday night and bloodtest is on monday morning, is that more likely to show abnormality

CA 27.29 Blood test
My new oncologist wants to add a new tumor marker test to my regular tests for CA15 and CEA. I know these guys all have widely varying ideas on which ones - if any - mean anything. So just looking to see if you all have any experience with this. My Ca15 has always been an accurate indicator and predictor

liver enzymes going up and down
I had a routine blood test 18 months ago which showed elevated GGT at 126. My GP told me to cut down on alcohol and I stopped having any alcohol at home and just had an occasional drink if I went out socially. I’ve never been a big drinker anyway. Fast forward to last September when I had another blood

I’ve been trying to get stable on t3/4 combination, still a way to go as last results after increasing to 10 mcg liothyronine in 2 doses were the worst yet, t3 and t4 both at bottom of range, vitamin D draining away again despite supplements. I’ve increased levothyroxine back up to 75 ( I was advised

Royal Free visit
Hi all, I just thought I would give a quick update. I attended the Royal Free Hospital last Thursday ,I was seen in the Scleroderma clinic by a member of the team. She asked questions and examined me, she then went and got a senior colleague,(not Prof Denton) unfortunately can’t remember their names

Father with Stage 4 prostate cancer in 8 bones.
On 10/25/22 I took my dad (79 at the time) to the ER at the VA for escalating back pain and we walked out with a stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. When I brought him to the ER I expected them to tell me he had lung cancer as he is a lifelong smoker. Additionally, I had been worried about him all year

Hi, I have recently ( two weeks ago) started taking T3 from Roseway Labs. (excellent service by the way) The pharmacist said to start on 2.5mcg per day and work up to 5mcg per day, she wants me to book another consultation in six months. I would like advice on how best to titrate up to 5mcg so that

feeling a bit overwhelmed and lost
In September 2023 I found out by chance that I had apparently been diagnosed with lupus 15-20 years ago. I haven’t been told at any point in this time by a doctor - I found out almost by accident from my GP physio. Since then my current GP has been initially verbally supportive although said they knew

water balance?
I have what the phlebotomists call "little rolly veins" which translates into multiple sticks at blood draws and having to wait for the "vein whisperer" guy to be available, also very slow and insufficient draws when the vein they finally managed to tap collapses, that kind of thing. So I drink a lot

Update and latest results
Hello again lovely people. I thought I’d come back and update having been on Levo 50mcg since diagnosis 3 months ago. In early January the GP asked me to retest and only TSH was done (big let down but not unexpected)! I was amazed that after only 2 months on Levo 50mcg that my TSH had dropped to 0.44

Ducks in a row
I was first diagnosed with Pernicious anaemia 3 or 4 years ago but thought nothing of it until my legs and arms started going numb and I kept falling round the place and had difficulty walking and getting up from a fallen or seated position. I now am aware of how serious it is, I've stopped drinking
