I read that : The normal range for active vitamin B12 (holoTC) is around 20 – 134 pmol/L (picomoles per My recent blood test states my active B12 level is 83.2pmol/L but states this is optimal. (medichecks) Do I need to supplement this?

blood test accuracy
Hi All, I order blood tests through Medichecks and have a blood draw at the hospital but also intermittently get blood tests through the NHS. According to the NHS my vitamin levels have gone down considerably but according to Medichecks they’re fine! Which one should I trust?! Thanks 😊

Hypothy in Canada, looking for any advice
So I live in Alberta Canada, when I lived in British Columbia and did blood test they gave the real number results of the TSH. Here in Alberta they apparently don't know how to get that. I was told my number is above the "normal " range. But they cannot or will not use the exact numbers, so the Dr's

My calcium level appears low within bone profile blood tests. Are these an accurate representation I wonder?
Diagnosed with osteopenia after having Dexa scans in 2016 and 2023 and breaking wrist and arm in separate incidents of slipping on ice. My concern is that when my calcium is tested via bloods, it comes back as being borderline low even though I’m taking 900mg calcium citrate per day and ingest another

Blood tests to track MS progression
I have heard about a specific blood test, in US, that allows doctors to measure key biomarkers and evaluate a person's response to particular therapies targeting MS. This is the Octave MS Disease Activity (MSDA) blood test that analyzes levels of 18 key biomarkers that help doctors measure the level

Advice re: ‘widespread portal hypertensive gastropathy’ following gastroscopy.

Was referred for CT scan of stomach/pelvis & gastroscopy. He has also been referred for a Fibro Scan due to concerns

My take on the Nhs
OK I was 2 hours waiting in A&E when I had unusual chest pains but once I was seen I was admitted to hospital for nearly two months . This is back in October 2019 .I can only say the care I was given was outstanding. It turns out as well as needing a triple bypass I had anaemia quite badly which I

Hi I'm just starting this journey of information. I am subclinical hypo - last test TSH 6.83. I've got a lot of symptoms and i'm unsure whether it's all down to thyroid, or if I am vitamin deficient, or if I am starting another fun journey of perimenopause. I'm vegetarian, my periods are regular and
