BISOPROLOL
I have been on Bisoprolol for nearly 2 years. 3.75 mg in the morning and 1.25mg at night. I'm exhausted all the time . Not sleeping very well as having to get up for a wee every 1.5 / 2 hours, then having a nap in the day. Others on the forum have written about the brands. Mine is 3.75 made

Amiodarone
Hi. After Bisoprolol and Flecainide stopped working I was prescribed Amiodarone last September initially on a loading dose of 3 x 200. This was reduced to 1 x 200 then raised to 2 x 200 when lower dose failed. My question is: do people on Amiodarone have regular blood checks? My blood was tested after

Private EP Question
It’s been awhile, but I do check the forum regularly and would like to say thank you for all you regular posters. It’s been hugely helpful to “listen on” your Afib conversations. Brief recap of my journey so far. Diagnosed 2020 and really struggled first while getting used to the meds, the diagnosis

Touch up ablation
Hi all 1 week ago I had a touch up RF ablation, I thought I would share my experience. I had my first ablation (a cryo ablation) September 2022. During this first procedure I had all 4 pulmonary veins ablated. At 3 month post ablation, under cardiologist advice I tried to give up the Diltiazem (for

Flecainide for Atrial Fibrillation
I was diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation last year and am currently taking Edoxaban and 1.25 of Bisoprolol to help with symptoms. It has been suggested by my cardiologist that I could try Flecainide as an antiarrhymic medication. I have resisted it as I’m not keen on the possible side affects but wondered

Here is an Atrial Fibrillation update from me about my treatment and a current success. My intention to help newcomers and to pass along good news which may also translate to hope for you. After a surprise episode in early May 2024 that took me to hospital while vacationing in the U.S., my home cardiologist

Pulsed Field Ablation in UK
Have been diagnosed with paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (July 2023), very frequent episodes at first but then getting more frequent in last 4 months. Was on Bisoprolol initially, then Dronedarone but frequency of episodes increased. Now on Flecainide and Bisoprolol for last 4 weeks without an AF occurrence

AF diagnosis
Hi I have been monitored because of the above diagnosis which is preventing me having an operation on my bowel. Unfortunately my heart rate and blood pressure are not stable enough to do the operation at the moment. The latest combo of drugs I'm about to try is Bisoprolol 1 tablet once a day plus

Ectopics, Palpitations and cures
Many on this board suffer from Ectopics. With some people they are almost continual, with others they sporadically cut in and out, often with no apparent reason and depart as quickly. Doctors are sometimes dismissive of the condition. Bisoprolol helps some people but not everyone. Most will be aware

Roller coasters and Cardiac condition
I really enjoy going to theme parks and going on a variety of roller coasters which include those that goes upside down. Now I have a cardiac condition- currently recovering from mitral valve open heart surgery where they were able to successfully fix my mitral valve, I don't want to lose my enthusiasm

Heart MRI with follow up abdomen ultrasound
Hi everyone. Thank you for the generous responses to my last post. I had a heart mri three weeks ago and on Monday was asked to book an abdomen ultrasound resulting from the mri. Had no notification of results. GP has now received a letter from my cardiologist which they can't let me see until the GP

Cutting bisoprolol dose and Dronedarone
I had my annual review at Barts yesterday, and reported increasing frequency of PAF episodes: five episodes so far this year as against only one in 2023. I’m in AF as I write this -the last episode was only two weeks ago. This feels a bit more symptomatic than usual. It was suggested that I cut my daily

Bisoprolol side effects
Hi! This may sounds a bit random, but about 8 weeks ago I was put on bisoprolol 2.5mg twice a day by my cardiologist. Felt a bit rough the first few days but then felt much better! However, when I ran out of that prescription, my local pharmacy gave me a different brand of bisoprolol and honestly I’ve

My Wife had a recent AF episode
My Wife woke up early morning 1am when her heart went into AF (I knew the symptom as I have suffered in the past with this but unrelated to hers) After several hours later a trip to A&E was suggested by 111. NHS were totally brilliant and within two hour was given a cardioversion which put her back into

No symptoms but.....?
I was diagnosed with afib about three years ago but with absolutely no symptoms and had an arthritis operation shortly afterwards which went very easily. I now have very slight breathlessness if I go up a steep hill and I do feel a bit tired in the middle of the afternoon but at 73 I'm thinking that's
