Bigoprolol/Apixaban hoarse voice
Been on bisoprolol apixaban and lansoprozole with few SEs for 3 and a half years, can they cause hoarseness or sore throat which started a few weeks ago after this long?If it continues I will of course contact my GP. P.S. It's not an infection

What is 25 AU
Got the results of my CT coronary angiogram yesterday. It gave me a calcuim score of 26.5 AU - I can find any reference to what AU means ? - Although a calcuim score of 26.5 seems ok - but not sure of the significance of the AU The rest of the report reads Evidence of right dominant circulation

Af or something else?
Hi everyone, I’m a carer and look after my mum. She was diagnosed with AF in May 2022. She’s on bisoprolol and Apixaban and also water tablet. The medication seemed to help with symptoms of AF but recently mum has been feeling anxious most days. When I ask how she’s feeling, she says she cannot describe

Bisoprolol again!
following my last post I have now stopped Bisoprolol. I have noticed my heart rate increase from around 67 to 74 (normal range). what I am noticing is that I get palpitations but my heart rate is within the normal range - does anyone have experience of this? It isn’t overly fast but just pounding

newly diagnosed with AF and been super anxious ever since
Hello all. Happy new year. 40 year old male from Canada recently diagnosed with Afib on November 22 2023. I was a heavy caffeine drinker, roughly 3 large coffees a day and an energy drink before exercise. Bad sleeper averaging 5-6 hours a night. Went to bed the November night and as I was dozing off

Scared to take Bisoprolol and scared of CT Angiogram
Back last year (Jan) I was having palpitations. GP referred to me cardiologist. I had phone consultation with cardiologist on 1st Dec (was supposed to be by Aug!) He said he's like me to wear a 2 week monitor which I'm absolutely fine with, though this could take months to get sent out to me. He also

Flying whilst having an episode of AF
Morning This is my first post on this forum but I have found it really resssuring. I just wondered whether people had been on a flight whilst having an episode of AF? I am paroxysmal at the moment but have found that my episodes are lasting at least 2 days and then only getting 1 day respite before

Hydrochlorothiazide side effects
Interesting article since many people are prescribed blood pressure medications and drugs that have HCTZ included in them. https://www.peoplespharmacy.com/articles/hydrochlorothiazide-hctz-side-effects-complications-and-gout

Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation and Pancreatic
Hi all, I am new to this forum and just wanted to see if anyone has suffered the same symptoms as myself. I was rushed into hospital with infection markers of over 400, but showed no other symptoms with the exception of the 10 days of sickness. After weeks of investigations and blood test. Found I

Ectopics suck 😔
Just looking for sympathy and others with similar experiences for reassurance. Since my OHS and cardioversion, I've been feeling some weird 'bumps' in my chest. Some of them feel like they're my heart, others are more like a big 'butterfly' in my stomach. I told my cardiologist about them and she said

PVCS and bigeminy
Hello, new here. Not sure if I’ve posted on the right thread but I was just looking for anyone going through the same thing. I’ve suffered with PVCS since about 2014, had 2 normal echos in the past, numerous ECG and Holter monitors and blood tests. Everything was normal apart from these PVCS which they

Increased symptoms as meds increased?
I was diagnosed with LV failure earlier this year (EF 35%). Over the last 6 months or so, I've been weaned onto the standard meds - 5mg bisoprolol (bd), 94mg Entresto (bd), dapaglyflozin and eplerinone. A week ago, I started on furosemide 20mg. However, although my BP and heart rate have come back into

Has anyone taken beta blockers for more than 10 years with no side effects?
Hi all, at my last consult with cardiologist he suggested staying on low dose metoprolol for another year and possibly permanently as for me it might help suppress the adrenaline spike that can bring on my AF. I’m on about 10mg twice daily of metoprolol tartrate. The equivalent in Bisoprolol is 1mg.

Its Baaack!
Woke at 0430 and went to the loo. On the way, I noticed that I was slightly unsteady on my feet. Sometimes this happens for a few seconds on standing up but quickly passes; this time it continued. On getting back to bed the penny dropped; a quick Kardia confirmed that I was in AF. This is the first

stopping Flecainide
I have been taking 2 x Flecainide 50 mg daily, plus Bisoprolol, for 4 weeks, to address AF episodes while travelling overseas. I had enjoyed ten months AF-free, following a second ablation. Is it usual to reduce the Flecainide dose gradually when coming off this medication?
