weight gain on bisoprolol
hello all, can anyone tell me why different brands of bisoprolol make you gain weight and others don’t. I’m struggling with added weight since the pharmacy gave me a different brand and I don’t understand why this is.

DC Cardioversion - Yes or No
For the last 18 months, my AF seems to have got worse, and I have suffered badly with a shortage of breath. I have had 2 lung function tests and 2 consultations with a Respiratory Consultant who has told me that my lungs are “normal”. I am on a very long list to see an NHS Cardiologist, and therefore

bisoprolol
Hi all! I have been taking Bisoprolol for a few years now, so I’m not sure if it is connected, because I just can’t remember the actual dates. I started a dry cough out of the blue, no mucous, no wheezing, just irritation. The cough was/is often exacerbated by spicy food, toothpaste (bizarrely) or when

Delay taking Bisoprolol after a long haul flight
I've been on Bisoprolol 2.5mg for about two years because of palpitations, ectopic beats. Generally works well, but struggles in hot weather. I just did a 24 hour long haul flight from Sydney to London for a month holiday. I normally take at 9am. But because of travelling I delayed my dose by a couple

There is hope
Hi all - I wanted to update everyone on a positive experience and to hopefully debunk some of the myths. For context I live in the Republic of Ireland and also have private medical insurance (this is very common in Ireland). 55, male and generally fit. I was having episodes of waking up, bolt upright

Bisoprolol
I have had PAF since 2021 which results in hight rate AF when it triggers. Incidents were originally about once a year and I have had two cardiofversions. I have had three incidents this year two reverted after a few hours and one required a trip to A and E and another cardio version, but I reverted

Same answers
Saw the gp this morning , but same answers come of the bisoprolol, have some blood tests AGAIN !, have some ECG tests AGAIN ! only difference was that depending on results might have to go to cardiologist clinic. Doing my head in can,t plan anything with work.

Advise on medication Please.
Following on from previous posts, GP has now prescribed 10mg of Carbimazole following bloods results indicating Hyperthyroidism. I am aware and understand how this medication works and that symptoms will slowly resolve as raised thyroid hormone levels in the body drop and this may take time.. However

Running capacity after mitral valve replacement
I had mechanical mitral valve replacement surgery last year. On Warfarin and Bisoprolol 5mg.I did a 5K parkrun yesterday in 31m 35s. I feel I had more in my locker to reduce race time further. Considering I have mechanical mitral valve and taking beta blocker Bisoprolol, how much further can I physically

Fast AF
Well it’s been a while since I posted on here as I’ve been in good shape generally . My AF has been mild , infrequent and short lived but things have changed and there’s a story behind it . I’d been waiting for an operation to replace my aortic valve for over six months and I was suddenly given a date

From ectopics and SVTs to paroxysmal A fib
Nearly 40 years of ectopics and am now 75. Last couple of years started getting SVTs and probably AFib from then but only recently diagnosed after a 14 day monitor. I had been on Bisoprolol which wasn't helping much so have been switched to verapamil. 1st tablet today and it doesn't seem to be helping

What triggers my AF and does it really matter?
I have had PAF for at least 10 years but only officially diagnosed in Nov 2021. I am on Edoxaban and Bisoprolol and also Simvastatin from much earlier. I now am having episodes about 3 times a month lasting from 14 to 24 hours. My symptoms include slight palpiatatons, slight breathlessness and sore

First annual telecon with consultant post Nstemi & 4x CABG. Possibly stop taking bisoprolol..
last Saturday I had a call with the consultant at my local hospital that I’ve been charged to after surgery in St Thomas’s London last July. She thinks I’m doing incredibly well. I asked if what future check ups I will be having , yearly cholesterol etc but it looks like I will be left alone until 5

Bisoprolol & Alcohol
I take 2.5mg of bisoprolol daily. I've never consumed alcohol while taking it. But I do miss the odd christmas baileys. So with that in mind and the festive season round the corner I was wondering about whether or not to have a tipple or two over christmas. Has anyone else had a small drinky while taking

Edoxaban forever?
I've been on edoxaban and bisoprolol after permanent AF became part of my life in 2022. I had an ablation in April this year, but went back in AF soon after so had a cardioversion and amiodarone for two months. I'm still in NSR, feeling better but still tired and get breathless fairly easily. At my follow
