In my mid forties I was prescribed BP medication for hypertension. I get quite a few fluttering/ ectopic beats at times but can go months without them ( or not notice). I also take statins for cholesterol.
Sometime ago I saw a cardiologist after wearing a monitor for 24hrs as I had had an irregular heartbeat and the stress had sent my hR sky high and was advised to go to A&E ( somewhere I dread and avoid so this was my first visit)
The cardiologist mentioned that the electrical function sometimes can go a bit awry and this was what was happening.
I explained the irregularity as a boom-boom, rather than boom, boom, boom (rather like how you hear a heart beat?)
Does this make sense to anyone? I found out later they have classed this as a murmur. I’m on a beta blocker too. Thank you 🙏
