Nausea and vomiting - at 7.5 / 8mgs Pred?
Hi Folks, Just wanted to pick all your super human brains again if that's ok, you lovely people! Have had a lot of problems lately, but most debilitating over last few weeks has been nausea - so bad it stops me eating and sometimes I vomit about an hour after eating. Two weeks ago was bringing up some

Statins oh Statins again
If Statins are meant to do virtually the same thing as a deterrent then why do people have to keep switching over because of intolerance to one and not another. Surely the aim of the drug is to lower cholesterol etc. So why the diversity ? I mean what are the manufacturers adding/taking away in one

Any advice on Statins?
I have had PMR since October and now down to 10mg Pred. Feeling ok although have put on 1/2 stone and sleeping badly. Got new GP, she’s a registrar and very enthusiastic and detailed. She has put me on Statins as my cholesterol is borderline and has been for 5 years, I also have strokes and heart attacks

Diet advice please! Low carb vs wholegrain carbs...
Good morning folks. HA 3 months ago. Stented. Was previously a sugar and carb addict. Gave up sugar immediately after HA. After reading concerns about sugar and carbs and their effect on arterial health I went very low carb for the last 2 months. There was an increase in saturated fats along with the

Have had this many times it is not a controlled drug and can be bought over the counter. This is not an emergency but can not

Statins are great for teeth
Just rare a positive note about statins I am on Atorvastatin 80mg mega blast dose. I used to suffer badly from dental plaque, it needed scraping off by the dentist every few months. I am now dental plaque free. I now have low cholesterol and sparkling teeth which I acredit to the atorvastatin.

Still on 80mg of Statin
I am 11th week of my post heart attack . I was researching the taking of Statins on the NICE website and my surprise their recommendations that a patient should only be taking 80mgs if the patient is suffering from very high cholesterol or high risk of cardiovascular complications. I have been on 80mg

Prednisolone and increased cholesterol
Hi, I have been on steroids for nearly a year and have tapered down to 7mg. I recently had a blood test which revealed that my medication has contributed to my cholesterol increasing to 7.1. My doctor wants to prescribe statins, but I’m reluctant to get involved with another drug that has unpleasant

Crazy 😳
Well I am gobsmacked. My hubby picked up my prescription today, sent to me by the Rheumatologist. He returned with three bag fulls? The Rheumatologist had prescribed items for the three in one mouthwash and a bottle of Cochicine. The Nystatin will not be in until tomorrow but there were 25 boxes of antibiotics

Oral Thrush
I'm on Mycophenolate Mofetil 2g daily, steroids, warfarin and lots of other meds. Just recently had 3 bouts of oral thrush. Nystatin clears it up but it keeps coming back. Does anyone have a similar experience and what did you do about it? (I can't take the pills for it as they interact with too many
