Statins and leg cramps/ pain
I was put on 80mg Atorvastatin after having Angioplasty but because of severe leg cramps and discomfort, after 8 months I have been prescribed 40mg of Simvastatin statins. I am now getting a lot of discomfort in my legs at night, sometimes a kind of burning sensation and aches. Has anyone tried another

Angiogram clear, what next? Microvascular?
Firstly thank you to everyone who responded to my last post regarding going for my angiogram on Monday, all your input helped! I did question beforehand if I needed the procedure which was interpreted as a 'reluctance' to have it done and spoke to 2 consultants about it along with a nurse! Anyway, after

Fatty Liver Diet
I need some help with my diet. I don’t need to lose weight. I’m 5’ 4’’ and 125 lbs. My fatty liver, I believe is caused by my high cholesterol and LPa lipids (mild CAD). I’m on 2 statins which control it fairly well. I have fatigue, a little too much fat around my middle and sometimes get mild pain

A bit surprised
Today I had my first consultation with my Cardiologist 17 weeks since my HA . I will add it was a phone call consultation and he was a hour late in calling . I have been very lucky and I am nearly back to full fitness but to my surprise he had doubled my dosage of both Ramipril ( from 2.5 Mg to 5MG )

AF and Statins
So an interesting debate over lunch with my youngest doctor daughter and her doctor boyfriend about to statin or not to statin. I don’t appear to have any plumbing problems just electrical with the heart. 66 in November and touch wood apart from migraine auras and the AFib, appear to be in good health

Things are settling down...
Morning all, after over four months of seeing various specialists talking to my GP (note not face to face because of Covid) and ten visits to A&E the medicos seem to have agreed what is the problem. The original angina diagnosis was shown to be false as a later CTCA scan showed my arteries were pretty

Crippled by Statins.
Heart attack in June 2020, on Atorvastain and other brands, now neuropathy muscle pain, can hardly walk. GP says stay on them or suffer another heart attack, but I have stopped taking them as my life is unbearable. Will pay anything for alternative. Can anyone help. I am male and 80.

Help! Trepidation setting in…
Having not run since I was 11 years old (I remember that day well….) I have decided that I need to get off of my bottom and take my health more seriously. Having largely ignored insulin dependent diabetes since my diagnosis, due to the fact that I am invincible, having slowly and blatantly increased

Morning back stiffness
For the last 3 months or so I have been waking up in the morning with a siezed feeling in my lumbar area on my right hand side. My mattress is only 3 years old and appears in good condition, I have turned the mattress over and it has made no difference. Once I am out of bed and start moving the pain/

Statins and myosotis. A warning
I have necrotising myosotis which tests show is due to statin therapy. Every time I went to the doctor over several years complaining of muscle pain all they did was change the type of statin. No blood test was suggested until I had a disabling acute episode. Unfortunately stopping the statins doesn’

Cholesterol problems - high protein, good fat diet recommendations
Hi there, long-term lurker here. I am based in Switzerland although British by birth. I've recently been following a high protein diet plan which recommends lots of cheeses (hard and soft) and dairy products. The breakfasts consist of various combinations of high fat yoghurts, magerquark, Philadelphia
