Wiped out by PIP visit
I had my PIP visit yesterday. The lady who came was nice. However all those questions about what I can't do and chat about what I used to do has left me drained and weepy. It's brought back all the feelings of mourning for my previous life. The deep depression of being useless, on the scrap heap.

Am I using my depression as an excuse?
Hi everyone. Sorry I’ve been posting so much lately. I recently got diagnosed with depression and started on drugs (less than a week ago). I feel tired all the time and don’t do much. I try to comfort myself by saying that I’m passing through some hard time, but I keep thinking: what if I’m not doing

A newbie feeling motivated
Hi everyone I want to lose 2 1/2 stone. I have gained a lot of weight over a long and very stressful period. I have an ingrained comfort eating habit that began when I was about 8 years old, which was a very long time ago! 😊 I have tried so many diets in the past and have regained the lost weight

Hearing
Most people feel this sensation, it happens all the time. Under stress it becomes more noticeable. Get a hearing test explain your symptoms audioligist will tell you how to protect your ears, then be aware and de stress. Stress is a big factor, doesent have to happen over night. It will go away, but

All is not lost
I've been to the gym every day this week but the scales seemed to be sticking - just a bit. Then I measured my waistline and found I'd lost a whole inch! It just goes to show that continuing success is not measured purely by weight loss. Want to lose another three inches at least from my waistline then

I’ve really developed a bad relationship with food from this because I just see dairy and gluten as bad food now and because I restrict myself from it I end up literally

Struggling
Hi, I have recently found myself falling back in a bad way. I eat foods which I know do not agree with me and I end up having an upset stomach to clear myself out. I have also taken laxatives. I purge on fatty and sugary foods to make myself feel better. It is a repetitive cycle. Any advice on how to

Looking for some help understanding my latest blood results. 5 years ago I was diagnosed with a prolacintoma that has now been medically treated and mri is clear and dostinex ceased. I still am lactating and feeling very under the weather. Also this year I have been diagnosed with aquagenic utaracia

After being a member of this site for a while and getting decent sound advice about general nutrition which seems to follow a sensible approach I thought there was no harm in having a look at the commercial side of weight loss . I was prompted by a poster by invitation - first meeting was free . Along

How does Venlafaxine and amitriptyline affect Raynauds
Has anyone had experience of using low level venlafaxine and/or amitriptyline 10mg? Did you find it made your raynaud symptoms worse initially? If so did this pass or was it a cause for concern?

Healthy drinking?
We spend so much of our time on this forum on food, I thought I might spend a bit of time talking about the drinks that I focus on.
Water:
I don't filter my water (yet) though I do plan to buy a good table top filter at some stage. You can get good filters for a few hundred pounds that get rid

Giving up the 5:2 diet...
Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of the 5:2 and it was a massive help in slowly getting me to change my eating ways. First by recognising real hunger to boredom hunger. And then for making better calorie choices and portion sizes. It got me on the road to my weight loss! But now I count calories daily

Slow and Steady
So I finally decided (after a lot of coaxing from my wife) to start exercising and dieting, its been about 18 days and I've lost 6.5 lbs so far and counting. Now to put that in perspective, I weighed 16.1 stone when I started and as per my BMI on NHS I am considered OBESE with a BMI of 36 @ 32 years

Unknown cause
So I've had some really strange symptoms occur over the past 6 weeks and I don't know whether they're neurological or caused by something ear related. Saw an ear specialist who could see no perforation and hearing tests all came back but these are my symptoms and wondering if anyone has experienced anything

If tinnitus is through hearing loss how can stress make it worse?
I’ve just had a private hearing test and my hearing loss in my left ear is severe and moderate loss in my right ear, which is causing my t to get worse over the years. If there’s something physically wrong with my ear why would stress make it worse? It’s such a complicated thing, but I’ve always felt

Struggling to keep weight on..
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue as me... I used to weigh around 7.7 stone to 8 stone and for the last 6 months I've been 7.4 stone. I can't seem to put weight on to get back to 8 stone. I eat 3 times a day but rarely snack. I'm not ill very much as severe IBS attacks are rare

Quinoa and lentil veggie casserole, gluten free 🥘
Hi everyone, I've been eating lots of quinoa mixed with lentils as I just love the combination. I came across quinoa when searching for alternatives to wheat and was pleased that quinoa is a complete food as it contains all the vital nutrients we need to live on. So is a true superfood. Lentils also
