Altermative to a liver biopsy???
I have not formally been diagnosed with PBC but am responding well to urso. I had a liver biopsy which went wrong and resulted in a perforrated gallbladder and I really dont want another one. Does a fibroscan do the same job as a biopsy?

Has anyone had pain in their back from gall bladder problems?
I've had pain under my ribs on the right side on and off for ages, along with some shortness of breath. The GP thinks it's probably gallstones and I've been waiting for an ultrasound since January. Recently I've had quite a lot of pain across my back where my ribs are and it's woken me up at night a

High ggt
Hi I’m new here. I had an acute cholecystitis infection in my gallbladder and my common bile duct was blocked with a very large gallstone. Both had to be removed laparotomy but now almost 7 weeks post surgery. My liver function test was taken at 4.5 weeks and was given news that my GGT levels are

Gall Bladder Removal
Following an Ultrasound scan, it was identified that I have gallstones. I saw a surgeon yesterday who wants to take out the gall bladder. My pain is manageable at this stage and he has classed me as medium priority. My question is a simple one. Does anybody regret having the gall bladder taken out and

Can we regenerate damaged organs in the lab?
I responded to someone’s question earlier about the need for liver transplants in the future. While looking at some videos online, I came across this one entitled “Can we regenerate damaged organs in the lab?”. I felt this video story which was put up recently (Feb 21) was just too good a story to warrant

Pain in my right side between above the hip bone and below ribs
Hi I keep getting pain in my right side it’s above my hip bone and below the ribs , sometimes it feels like it’s burning ache , sometimes just a pain. Could this be gall stones? Or gall bladder pain? Sometimes feels like it’s going round my back too, I’ve had blood tests all come back normal. Any help

Gallstones
Hi I've had a ultrasound in July 2019 which they found small gallstones. But when I stood up and they scanned me they fell down into the duct. I've never seen anybody about this. But on Tuesday I ended up in A&E with Bilary colic they said my liver blood tests came back raised. Has anyone sorted it

Liver Stones
I had my Gallbladder taken out in Feb 2019. A couple of months earlier I had been very poorly and went an amazing shade of yellow. I had an ERCP done then which worked like a charm. Anyway, after 6 months my pains started to come back quite badly. Eventually I have been diagnosed with stones. I have

Possible gallbladder problems
Hi sorry if this post is in the wrong place. I've posted on various communities before but now after speaking to my doctor yesterday she thinks I may have something wrong with my gallbladder. I've had upper abdomen pain, mostly on the right side but also across the mid to upper area of my back. This

Side effects of Ursofalk
I’ve been recently diagnosed with PBC after positive AMA and liver biopsy. My LFT’s are all in normal range except slightly elevated GGT. I started on 500mg of Ursofalk taken at night. After a week I started experiencing severe pain on my right hand side. I called my gastroenterologist and he told me

Can there be a delay in postcholecystectomy problems?
I had my surgery in October 2017 when I had a gangrenous gallbladder. It was open chest surgery and I had a stent put in my bile duct. I have been experiencing some pain by my scar site in the upper right abdomen and the abdomen feels swollen. I wonder if it can be connected

Hi Everyone, Four years ago I had my gallbladder out. I also have GERD. After awhile I started with a pain in my upper abdomen , like a gall bladder attack radiating to back. Dr. Doubled my protonix and added carafate. Eventually it went away. Now just recently I had the Covid vaccine and it gave me

The Itch and goose bumps or shivers
It’s been five years since my diagnosis. Today the itch is severe. I remember sometime ago I mentioned to my Hepatologist that the itch comes with goose bumps or chills, he gave me an answer. Right now nothing makes sense. I itch and itch and get shivers, goose bumps, chills. Does this happen to
