Can we regenerate damaged organs in the lab?

I responded to someone’s question earlier about the need for liver transplants in the future.

While looking at some videos online, I came across this one entitled “Can we regenerate damaged organs in the lab?”. I felt this video story which was put up recently (Feb 21) was just too good a story to warrant its own news alert.

This is from Cambridge University

Scientists have used a technique to grow bile duct organoids – often referred to as ‘mini-organs – in the lab and shown that these can be used to repair damaged human livers.

This is the first time that the technique has been used on human organs.

I know some of you may be interested in this research and this video has just totally blown me away: youtu.be/Ypvjlm5fYxo
