Hello 👋

I'm not much help as I'm trying to be well enough to have my GB removed.

I just now I have lots of stones and one stuck in the GB neck and it blinking hurts, to avoid all fats, so I can't really comment for yourself. Sorry 😔

I'm sure others will read your post that can be more helpful. Hang fire 🙂

Look after and take care 😊

Hi kerrymacd. After having acute cholecystitis last March completely out of the blue I had an emergency gall bladder removal as I was going into toxic shock. I have had no problems at all since and I recovered in about 6 weeks. All good wishes for your recovery. X

I’ve written this before but I’ll post it again as you sound to have a similar experience. After having three ‘attacks’ of pain which resulted in pancreatitis because the stones were causing a blockage, they still didn’t take my gallbladder out. After the fourth attack, I begged them to take it away......the pain was unbearable. Have it out, before it gets to this. I lost a stone and I have had absolutely no issues relating since. 👍

Kerry, I had my gallbladder removed 4 weeks ago. Won’t lie, first 3 weeks weren’t great but I feel ok now RUQ pain has eased and I can eat a normal diet.

Had mine out last August due to suspicious polyps. The actual op was ok but I developed bile acid diarrhoea and malabsorption afterwards so lost 12kg in a few months which I didn't need to lose so ended up seriously underweight, haven't managed to put it back on. I now take Cholestyramine which is a bile acid binder and it mainly keeps things under control but I do have to be a bit careful what I eat.

Hi Kerry,

Its really important to highlight the weight loss and difficulty eating with the consultant tomorrow so they can assess why and how to help.

You could also discuss a referral to a hospital registered dietitian with them who may also be able to assist you.

Keep us posted.
