Drinking and liver
I am reading a lot of posts here and people honestly admit their drinking. But what is drinking. Before January 2021 I would have a glass of red wine every day for a few years. Apparently, all my doctors even now say red wine in moderation is fine. Well, no. I was told fatty liver, had cholecystectomy

Normal ALP at time of Diagnosis
Hello. I have had PBC for just over 3 years. I have always had a very normal ALP. I've read that one of the hallmarks of PBC is an elevated ALP. I have positive AMA and other elevated liver enzymes, now normal with urso. Can you explain why my ALP is normal? What does that indicate?

Fibro, Buprenorphine Patches and CBD Oil
Is there anyone that can give me any good advice. Over a good many years I was on a cocktail of pain medications. In the last couple I have managed to take myself off the pills but still remain on the Buprenorphine patch and anti-depressants. Because of being unsure if the patch was actually working

TEST results from Gallbladder.
I had a Hipa test for gallbladder squeeze and it showed I have 18% function. Supposed to have 40-100%... BUT I now am wondering if anyone did a "cleanse" for sludge etc. I have not had an ultrasound for stones but in 2019 I did and there were none. No more attacks. and I am hoping to keep it that way

Kidney stones and ibs
I believe thereās a link between kidney stones and ibs and other troubles in this area. Over the last 18 months Iāve had 6 treatments of lithotripsy. Finally my last scan said they were clear. Hooray I thought, it was short lived as the rest of the letter informs me, ā we have noticed a little deterioration

Bowel prep for colonoscopy - long post. Sorry.
Hi. I thought I would kick off with the dreaded bowel preparation (clearing) required prior to having bowel examinations or surgery. There are a number of products (some branding names vary between USA and UK). So, this is my journey this year: Needed a colonoscooy as well as Upper GI Endoscopy so appointment

Gallstones
Hi my husband has liver cirrhosis and now gallstones, he is in agony most of the time but they won't remove the gallbladder, he's at the end of his tether and now drinking more because with the codeine it's the only thing that slightly dulls the pain. It's a huge strain on out relationship. Just after

Altermative to a liver biopsy???
I have not formally been diagnosed with PBC but am responding well to urso. I had a liver biopsy which went wrong and resulted in a perforrated gallbladder and I really dont want another one. Does a fibroscan do the same job as a biopsy?

Has anyone had pain in their back from gall bladder problems?
I've had pain under my ribs on the right side on and off for ages, along with some shortness of breath. The GP thinks it's probably gallstones and I've been waiting for an ultrasound since January. Recently I've had quite a lot of pain across my back where my ribs are and it's woken me up at night a

Gall Bladder Removal
Following an Ultrasound scan, it was identified that I have gallstones. I saw a surgeon yesterday who wants to take out the gall bladder. My pain is manageable at this stage and he has classed me as medium priority. My question is a simple one. Does anybody regret having the gall bladder taken out and

Can we regenerate damaged organs in the lab?
I responded to someoneās question earlier about the need for liver transplants in the future. While looking at some videos online, I came across this one entitled āCan we regenerate damaged organs in the lab?ā. I felt this video story which was put up recently (Feb 21) was just too good a story to warrant
