Bloating

I'm new here , I have proctalgia fugax.which is caused by neve ending damage with no query so the specialist have told me ...on going I'm researching myself ! .you never know .it caused due the my work over the years

I also have IBS and together its not nice .can anyone help with with the bloating ..any ideas please..I.do the diet thing ....eat slower..I'm on gabapentin for proctalgia fugax....not sure it that helping?but I don't think its that I've had all the tests etc and GP has been brilliant and the specialist. Any advice please thank you Andy R

Firstly check the medical fact sheet for the side effects of gabapentin then ask about ask alternative medication. Every medication has side effects, the difference being can you tolerate it or not. Gabapentin doesn't help your IBS, in fact it can aggravate the IBS. It all comes down to your GP being able to match a medication to you to minimise and side effects you might experience.

The only advice I can give is keep your GP.. You are so very lucky to have one that cares.

I'm at the end of my patience with mine.

He just isn't interested in my condition.I'm sure he thinks I'm imagining the pain.

I shall change mine as soon as possible but GP's don't want new patients at the moment due to the covid situation

Yes my Gp has gone the extra miles for me and the back and stomach specialist..they have been brilliant plus helped me tremendously...there is No query the my condition proctalgia fugax its all down my work over the years so working hard for a living didn't pay off for me .but I'd do the same again ...IT IS WHAT IT IS .X

Unfortunately I don’t have any advice about the bloating. I can only add that I’m on Gabapentin as well. It was prescribed to me for nerve ending pain causing a burning sensation especially on the tops of my feet. The nerve ending pain was apparently caused by elevated blood sugar levels. I have IBS as well, and as someone mentioned previously, Gabapentin doesn’t help IBS. The main side effect I noticed from Gabapentin is it causes drowsiness. I take it at bedtime.

Hi I get terrible bloating . And was told to take peppermint capsules .,or drink peppermint tea and camomile tea . I drink peppermint tea and camomile tea . Sometimes people find the capsules a bit strong sometimes they help but still get bloating but like everything it can work for some people and not others . 😊
