Sand volleyball after DBS
Does anyone play sand volleyball after having DBS? My programming nurse said I should be fine to play...I had DBS in October/November 2019. I guess I'm concerned about getting hit in the battery.

Scared of having brain tumor
Hey there:), I’m 17 years old, and for about a week and a half I’m suffering some really bad dizziness, unbalanced walking, and nausea. I’m really scared that it’s a brain tumour, Also I suffer from severe anxiety for about a 4 years, lately I had panic attacks that last for all day, and I’ve even developed

olfactory hallucinations?
Hello, Has anyone ever experienced smelling something that isn't there? Last night in the middle of the night my dad smelled smoke that wasn't there. He also had hallucinations of smoke. Usually his hallucinations are of bugs and dust. It was probably the change and increase in mucuna dosage that caused

I suppose I’m still in shock, I didn’t even know what a peritoneum was until that point and now it seems to have taken over my life!! I feel like I need to get prepared, by a wig, at least get my hair cut short or

I really need help from experts in brain injuries and language problems
So this is what happened to me, for some weird reason when I was 15 years old I lost the abilities to understand a lot of things like books, videos, movies etc., it's not that I don't understand what's happening, but that I don't understand the language, I have to say that I didn't lose the ability to

Hair loss
Over the last year I've been losing hair and texture has changed.... I've tried a strengtheners, Biotin and so on. I am on Prednisone, Plaquenil, and Imuran; which can cause loss of hair but at this point a necessity. Are there any hair remedies???

Dismissed after 6 days of employment
I suffered a TBI in December 2018. I also suffered a subdural haemorrhage whilst in hospital needing emergency surgery. I went to a specialist rehab unit for 12 weeks. Before the accident I was a transport manager. I no longer could full fill. I wanted to get back to back to work as I’d always worked

Advice on latest Results please
I’ve been on 137.5mcg Levothyroxine since December 2019 to date. I’m puzzled why the current results are less than optimal and fluctuating since December 2019 as I’ve been on the same dosage of 137.5mcg since December 2019. Current symptoms, generally good, but lethargy sets in late afternoon; insomnia

Crazy Neck Pain and Headaches Post Viral Meningitis
Hi all, 42 yr, female. I was diagnosed with viral meningitis in August 2019. After almost 7 months I am still dealing with the headaches, major neck pain and light sensitivity. There are days I feel like I could run a marathon (ok... not really a marathon but I feel pretty good!) and other times

Newbie with Test Results - please could I have your views?
Hi! I've just got my first private labs back. GP surgery is impossible to engage with; I can only get a five minute appointment over the phone with different GPs each time. I had an NHS ultrasound on Tuesday and was told at the time of the scan that my thyroid was inflamed, no nodules. The ultrasound

HAS ANYONE WITH PD HAD SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR IMPLANTED FOR POSTURE CORRECTION,PAIN MODULATION AND MOTOR FUNCTION?
Hi,friends, this procedure might be relatively new. I have read that it is similarly to DBS,but it targets the spinal cord instead of the brain.I was wondering,if anyone had this procedure done, please share your experience. How effective is it?Is it safer ,compared to DBS? Thanks in advance.

Poor response to medication
My specialist is not happy with my response to taking 10 Kinson per day, neither am I. He is sending me for an MRI of the brain, then I go into hospital, go off all Parkinson meds for 18 hours so he can see the results. He is considering me as a candidate for Deep Brain stimulation and this scares
