Nausea and bruising due to medication.
After almost 2 years on methotrexate which changed to injections about 7 months ago (plus hydroxychloroquine) my RA has been quite well controlled apart from some intermittent flares. Originally (21months ago) I started to lose a lot of hair but was advised to try a supplement I could purchase from health

Just had some results back and would like some advice please
Hi all, I saw my NHS endocrinologist on Dec 9, she ordered blood tests to check my TF as I told her I was self medicating. I was also booked in for an SST and ACTH to check on my adrenal function, due to my Addisons and because I was supposed to be having a consultation with my private endocrinologist

Impressive Benefits Of Neem
There are certain anti-inflammatory properties in neem leaves. This is especially exciting for arthritis research. The paste or oil, when applied to aching joints and muscles due to arthritis can significantly reduce pain and discomfort, and even increase flexibility if consistently used. https://www.organicfacts.net

Shingles jab
Thank you all for your replies about the 2 types of shingles jabs and for PMRpro's site redirection... mmmm... all responses indicate missing this generous offer! Do GPs read the info? I have very little faith in my current GP so will tackle the surgery forewarned and, if necessary, forearmed.

Teva to Activis
Hi, I've been taking Teva Levothyroxine since diagnosed hypo for 3 years....no side effects. My pharmacist gave me Activis, Northstar which I have taken for 9 days. I noticed slight headaches throughout the days leading up to this morning when I woke up at 5.15am with a headache and feeling nauseous.

DBS for Mom who is 85
My Mom was initially not ready for DBS. Now she would like to go that direction. I contacted her Neuro and they said she is not a candidate for DBS and mentioned her age of 85. Now what? Do I push for another opinion from another Neuro? Or is there typically a cutoff for this type of surgery

IL-8, The Inflammatory Mediator That Is 220% + Higher In PWP Cerebrospinal Fluid Than In Control Subjects And Possible Ways To Deal With It
In a recent reply post to forum member Parkie13 (Mary) I was discussing the chemokine Interleukin-8 (IL-8) and its relationship to PD and Multiple Sclerosis(MS) which I had only recently read about myself. The conversation got going because the post was discussing the possibility that MS may be caused

Tapering again.
Hello to all you lovely people who have helped me over the last week. Things have now progressed further and this morning I noticed a rash where the pain had been. A visit to the doctor confirmed my suspicion of shingles. So I think I did have a PMR flare but I now also have shingles. Life is such fun

I am waiting for DBS and other work documents to go through soo have several weeks before my job starts. I am struggling not knowing many people, not having a purpose and having very little money

Interference of anti-streptavidin antibodies in immunoassays: a very rare phenomenon or a more common finding?
The issue with biotin interfering with blood tests has been much discussed. Now a paper which suggests that interference by anti-streptavidin antibodies is more common than thought. Unfortunately, whereas with biotin we can do something (stop taking biotin for a few days before a test), with these

Anxiety
So my main anxiety is tumors and aneurysm’s. I’m 19, no family history of either. But I still worry about it on a constant. I vape, and it’s been making me feel like complete crap lately, headaches and what not. But I just want to know the likeliness of an aneurysm at 19. I just constantly worry about

Shingles jab and PMR
A lady I know believes her PMR was caused by the shingles jab she was recently offered at the age of 70. I’d never heard this before and I wondered if it’s a widely shared view and if so is there any evidence to back it up?

Baffled
I have been feeling deaf in my left ear for years,to me it didn’t feel like true deafness as sometimes when I turned my head it totally cleared until I moved my head again.I also felt my head was full of cotton wool.I asked different GPs for years & they just looked in my ears & said they could see nothing.Eventually

Referred for MRI - Suspected benign tumour
Hi all Thanks everyone for sharing as much as you have on this forum. I have been reading through and everyone’s questions and responses are a great help in an unsure time for me. I have tinnitus and hearing loss in both ears but the ENT consultant advised there was a notable difference of 15 decibels

Looking for research on heart and suppressed TSH
I had a very stressful and combative cardiology appointment yesterday. A 24hr ECG back in May showed I’m having a load of ventricular ectopic beats (over 20,000 in a 24 hour period). Palpitations was one of the many hypothyroid symptoms I’d been having, I was feeling heart flutterings when sitting
