Adding T3 to T4, week 1: progress report
Hi - I have Hashis. Following advice from a thyroid-sympathetic endo, I have, for the last week, been adding 6.25mcg T3, 3 x daily on top of my 100mcg levo. I've also been eating GF and for the last couple of days, DF as well. And taking various vitamin and mineral supplements as if my life depended

Going for sinus op on Wednesday
This Wednesday I'm going in for my sinus operations, it's a FESS (draining of the mucus) a septoplasty (straightening my septum) which is apparently very misshaped inside and a CIT (burning out inflammation). For 2 weeks I'll be terribly blocked but then I should start to feel better after that, I've

Post DBS Surgery
Good morning all! I am now 7 weeks since my DBS surgery. Yes! That is the answer if anyone asks if I am happy with my decision to have the surgery. I am now walking briskly each day, active with my bookkeeping clients, and have rejoined society as an active participant. I am also "in training"

New study suggests DBS should be used earlier.
DBS proved very effective in patients with average of 7.5 years since diagnosis. http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1205158?query=featured_home

Biotin?
Hello all, I recently read somewhere that too much Biotin was bad for people with thyroid problems, I am currently taking (and have been for about 4.5 months) a liquid supplement which contain 5000mcg of Biotin in it, and was wondering if this was a problem. Also if this is a problem, can anybody recommend

Niacin helps Raynaud's Syndrome
Dear Everyone, Raynaud's is scary and confusing. I have learned the safest way to treat it is with Niacin, 500 mgs., about every four hours during cold weather. It causes a flush, meaning, as it opens your blood vessels, you feel warmth and may be reddish in color. Not all Niacin causes a flush, so

DBS Surgery
It has been one month since my DBS surgery - time for an update. I am now "in charge" of my regulator. This means that my neuro showed me how to change the amount of voltage is sent to each side of my brain. This allows me to increase or decrease depending on my symptoms. I was encouraged to substitute
