Over the last year I've been losing hair and texture has changed.... I've tried a strengtheners, Biotin and so on. I am on Prednisone, Plaquenil, and Imuran; which can cause loss of hair but at this point a necessity. Are there any hair remedies???

In Asia Mustard oil is very popular. You can buy it on line. Rub into the hair leave for thirty minutes and then wash with warm water. There is no harm in a trial. Some men believe it stops them going bald...too late for me! Best wishes Kevin

Mustard essential oil is available for purchase at any health food store or online. To use a mustard essential oil, dilute it with lighter oils. Then, apply it to affected areas on the body. It also acts as a mosquito repellant. For this use, apply the diluted oil on your pulse points. The oil can even help make your hair healthier and shinier.

Hi Randa, last year i bought five different things on Amazon and used them at the same time. Hair grew better. Not sure which one worked. I got Essy hair growth oil, Marc Anthony regenerating 12 miracle, shampoo for hair growth and whatever else was sold the most with good reviews. Good luck.

I’ve had the same problem and buy Ovation Hair online. It’s awesome. Returned the softness back to my hair immediately, and within three months I saw tufts of new growth all throughout. My hair dresser recommended it because she saw how well it worked for another client. I’ve been using it, maybe 7(?) years now.

Hi there, hair loss... it is horrid. I have had that on and off all my life. It turns out that it was low ferritin stores, the range for ferritin is something like 15-180 (how can that be a sensible range) but anything below 100 for me meant that I lost hair badly. When I was finally diagnosed with low ferritin my level was 4, I was hastily given IV iron and my level shot up to around 180 and my hair stayed in my head. I recently had a test and it was back down at 15 ... so I have just had another infusion. Waiting for my hair to thrive again.

Worth an investigation 😊

Hi, I have had the same problem. My hair is much thinner now with the lupus and all the drugs. I also had straight hair but now I have the odd ringlets.

I've started using Dr.Organics Hemp oil range from Holland and barrett.

I use the shampoo and conditioner, hair mask and the mouse. They need to be use as I package but I only use the mouse daily. It's made such a difference already and it's only been a month or 2.

I chose this range as is mainly natural oils etc, all the other products I looked out were chemicals and I've had enough of toxins in me.

Hope you find something that helps.

Hi Randa

I’m just wondering if you are low on vitD , worth checking this out . Has my hair has improved tremendously since having it prescribed due to critically low levels .

I also have thyroiditis , this wrecks havoc with your hair quality , it’s all too common with lupus . Worth having a thyroid function test .

I have the exact conditions as you Willow. My thick hair has thinned out badly, especially at the crown and parting. It depresses and worries me tremendously. I take Wellwoman Hairfolic and vitamin D. It SEEMS not to have gotten worse at the moment but is still very thin. I hope and pray that I won't lose anymore hair. I do not believe there is a remedy for this problem.
