Barium swallow
Good Evening Everyone. Has anyone ever had a barium swallow done? I'm having one done in the morning. A little nervous but ready to feel myself again. I drove to my psychologist appointment alone today and I was not scared or anything. I didn't even feel fear or think about fear when I left home nor

The MRI...
Hello everyone, and a big thank you to everyone who replied to my MRI fear post. Well, I've had it done and am back home- it was nothing really! Took 2 mg Valium first, but don't think it had any effect. I didn't feel the least bit claustrophobic as the scanner was brightly lit and slightly bigger than

Chest pains and breathlessness, cause by iron or thyroid?
Hi, I've posted a couple of times now and am still in the process of being diagnosed (all my blood results are in my first post https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/135174260/advice-for-talking-to-doctor). In summary, my TSH is ok, free T4 & free T3 are both right at the bottom of range and I have

Hi everyone, This may sound feeble compared to what others have been through, but I'm dreading this MRI on Monday. It's a month since I was diagnosed with invasive Her2+, and will be another 2 weeks til the op, it would have been sooner but Easter hols have delayed everything. I'm scared I'm going to

Sixteen months ago I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency after I asked the GP for a test, having read the PA symptoms and realised that I had many of them. I have Type II diabetes and this was being treated with metformin amongst other medications. I read that metformin blocks the absorption of B12 in

Hi
My family says they see improvement in me and it's making everyone so Happy but why do I feel so weird a little still? I don't think I can forget about anxiety and derealization and blah blah blah. Has anyone ever fully moved on from it? Also, I had a chest xray done... Everything was normal. Now I have

Partially collapsed bowel.
My son went for his review with the IBD nurse after having a barium follow through. She told him that he had a partially collapsed bowel and that she didn't know what that meant and so she would have to speak to a consultant. We are still waiting for her to come back to us. He has diarrhoea anything

Iron deficiency and PV
Hi. I'm new to this Forum and am reassured to see that others are as confused as me about living with an MPN! My question relates to iron deficiency and PV. There seems to be a dearth of information out there! I was diagnosed with ET about four years ago. The diagnosis was revised to PV last Autumn

RA first focused blood tests
Hi all, I have just posted an intro as I'm concerned I have RA. I have some blood tests booked on Wednesday this week to see if they show RA specifically. I don't know if they're just a general blood panel or if they include antibodies testing. I didn't get chance to talk this through as I was already

what you say about everything
G'day my friends. How do u describe your ms, cleaning your teeth, putting on your shoes? Any number of things and everything I guess. It appears to me that the words u use the thoughts U have determine your reactions emotions and feelings. It is sometimes hard, tricky challenging frustrating

MRI advice
G'day, äter MANY visits to the tunnel (MRI) over the years, I will advice (SP) this. VALIUM, is your friend. Low dosage, I think under 5mg just to calm u down and relax You. I have done this for everyone except the first and that was a horrible experience. Just say u might be a little claustrophobic

Update - different results via Private and NHS
Added this update to my original post then realised I'd be better off starting a new post....... Well following the great advice people on here gave me, I went back to my GP and asked to be retested. I got the earliest appointment and fasted and the results were almost identical to the original ones

Trouble in the Workplace
I have a major issue with confrontations around my supervisors and the program director of the agency where I work at. Every time they meet with me to address a concern, I get extremely anxious to the point that I break down and start crying, which makes me look weak to them and emotionally unstable.

Repeat Aspiration Pneumonia
Although I realize every case is different my question is if the timing of the second bout is affected by the severity of the first? An update on my husbands thyroid problem
We had an appointment today with the endocrinologist. They have taken bloods but in the mean time we have made our own discovery. Probaby should explain more that he has a benign tumour on his pituitary gland. For this he takes 125 levothyroxine and 20 hydrocortisone. The tumour was a side effect of

Very productive day.
Some morning's when I get the kids up I will sit about in my jammies but today I got dressed straight away as I was taking my mum swimming. After an hour at the pool came home got my house work done and dinner sorted and then back to the gym for my personal training session. We did a little cardio, but
