Blood test results regarding magnesium - thank you everyone for advice
I posted previously about my mum’s anxiety and how she has been struggling with it for months now. After a lot of advice from this group, I requested that the GP checks her magnesium and thyroid so thank you to everyone who advised me to get this checked . Her results have shown that thyroid is fine.

The recent AASM Draft Guidelines
I finally had a chance to look at the recent AASM Draft Guidelines. I was surprised by a number of things. They should have had something between conditional for and conditional against. Why did they choose those particular things? Some don't even have much relevance to improving RLS such as antidepressants

My Mom needs heart surgery & I'm a terrified, 47 yr old baby
I feel so selfish. My MOM is the one who needs her aortic valve replaced, not me. But here I am, terrified of the upcoming surgery. Terrified of how terrified I'll be. Why can't I reframe my thinking? Why can't I look at this as this will save her?! Quick background: I'm 47, female, never married, no

Can't increase my iron levels
Hi all, I posted in February 2023 my low iron results and started taking 200 Ferrous Sulphate daily then. My iron results after 3 months were Ferritin 39 (20-204) Serum iron 18.6 (4.4-27.9) Feb 23 was: serum iron 11, ferritin was 29. So not a huge improvement. But now, a year on, even worse! Despite

Radium-223 and [177Lu]Lu-PSMA
Has anyone here from Canada had experience with either of the two PSMA treatments. I was all excited about this until I looked into it a bit more and the results seem to be very mixed not to mention the cost of upwards of $27K per treatment (5 or 6 treatments seems to be typical). I have completed 8

Panic Attack
I went to a dermatologist last week to have a cyst removed from my shoulder, and as usual Roman, my husband, came with me. The nurse took us back to the exam room and told us that Roman would not be able to stay with me during the procedure. She then went on about aftercare of which I heard nothing.

At the crossroads (again)
My profile is up to date, but, briefly, have failed chemo, ADT (am castrate resistant), failed Keytruda and now Pluvicto. Scans yest. & today show progression along with PSA rise. All my mets are in bone. So, my SOC choices are cabazataxel or radium 223. Other options are trial, which are a crapshoot

Moving on to hospice care
many of you have heard from me before at this point. My dad (68, diagnosed almost 2 years ago) had his last appointment with his MO two weeks ago or so. Radium 223 is out of the picture for him as he is just not well and it would not aid his survival at this point. They suggested some radiation for the

How to improve your blood pressure
I have recently fallen in love. With capillaries. In his brilliant book, ‘The Secret Language of Cells’, Dr John Leif, physician and neuroscientist, dedicates a whole chapter to them, calling these tiny vessels, ‘brain centres’ of tissue development. With a yogic lens, this speaks to the body intelligence

ALP AND RADIUM 223
My husband has had 2 sessions of radium 223 and the oncologist is pleased that his ALP has reduced to ‘normal’ levels after the first session and stayed the same after the second. However his PSA has continued to rise and has doubled over the last 3 months since he stopped abiraterone. The oncologist

suspected epidural tumour
Hi all! Hope you are all doing well. My dad just got his scans back, and to go along with his rising PSA (over 260 now), the said they suspect he has an epidural tumour. Our MO typically glazes past his scan results as she doesn’t seem them significant, I want to make sure I am right to be worried here

Help with test results - haemochromatosis with iron deficiency?
A few years ago I regularly had blood tests which showed high iron levels so my doc suspected Haemochromatosis. I had the genetic testing which showed I had the gene mutation. I used to get blood drawn to treat it and bring down my iron levels. However, recently I had blood tests which showed low ferritin

pain eating after hiatus hernia repair.
hey everyone, I had surgery to repair a hiatus hernia I had in 2019. I’m grateful I have had no acid reflux since but I get this really bad pain in my left shoulder (kind of up inline with my armpit). I went back to hospital for endoscopy and barium swallow because I regurgitate my food and they found
