My husband has had 2 sessions of radium 223 and the oncologist is pleased that his ALP has reduced to ‘normal’ levels after the first session and stayed the same after the second. However his PSA has continued to rise and has doubled over the last 3 months since he stopped abiraterone. The oncologist says if it increases again next month after his third radium treatment then he will send my husband for a scan. We thought the PSA count wasn’t of much relevance when someone is on radium 223 as the Pca on the bones releases PSA when it’s being attacked by the radium - is this incorrect and should we be worried? Thanks All

Ra223 will usually not stop the PSA value from rising. If you take denosumab you could resume Abiraterone.

You are indeed correct. ALP is probably a better indicator.
When I finished 223 we measured success by the growth of my Mets. Many had shrunk and only one showed a small increase in size. I hope you have similar or even better results.
yes, I did all 6 and had no side effects. Since then I’ve done 3 rounds of chemo but had to stop. I’m now expecting to do Pluvicto this summer.
